That's an awesome childhood memory. And that Millennium Falcon was worth every penny, making it even better!
Even my wife, who has no interest in any of this kind of thing and who is several years younger than I am, had one as a kid. (She liked RotJ Yoda as a kid, apparently.) One time, not long after we were married, we were visiting my in-laws and my mother-in-law, who knew I liked all this stuff, opened a hall closet and told me I could take anything I wanted from in there -filled with my wife's childhood toys (about which she had no interest whatsoever). And there was a well-used Millennium Falcon, which I did take (and still have), over my wife's good natured objections...Leave a comment:

My parents made me save up for the Falcon one dollar at time. Had to cut open my Spidey head bank when I finally had enough.Leave a comment:

An online inflation calculator indicates that the $33.76 for the Millennium Falcon in 1980 is equivalent to $134 today. I'm genuinely shocked that my parents bought that for me for Christmas: that's a lot more expensive at the time than I thought....Leave a comment:

I wanted Grim Ghost. Had I obtained it, I would also have bought Hour of the Dragon and Phoenix. Without it, no sales.
I did buy Phoenix later at a good price on ebay for a custom, but that's another discussion.
I collect MOTU Origins, and those WM exclusives are a nightmare. So, I'm concerned for Creepshow. All my local WM are pretty shabby. Rural Ohio.Leave a comment:

This same rhetorical question came to my mind. I was able to get an Atlas Grim Ghost earlier this year from Walmart, but that was only after my original pre-order was unilaterally cancelled by Walmart and then I happened to see it actually for sale on the website (briefly, as it turned out). Just a month or two earlier, Walmart unilaterally cancelled two other pre-orders I had placed several months earlier, just when the figures became available. I promised myself at the time that I wouldn't place another pre-order with Walmasrt again.Leave a comment:

The Gillman head sculpt is pushing some good buttons for me. Nice to see the reissued Neptunian boots, too.
Now, will these actually be obtainable? Walmart sucks.Leave a comment:
