Cool figure and all, but I was hoping these 8" figures would look differently from their 7" counterparts... I'm sure I'll buy it though

This kind of settles it for me: NECA is the new heir to Mego.
They have more and more popular franchises, and they're upping their game with a new body, which they call...Type 2.
Swivel arm, new hip/leg joint. Sounds good to me!

I'll be getting two of these soldiers, to start with....

I'm may just buy 2 of the Soldier Apes. NECA is doing an amazing job with making MEGO figures. So far they are my favorite!

Relooking at him (Taylor, page 1 of this thread), I agree with your statement about "cleaning up the stitching"... Even more important than that is, they need to lengthen his top a little bit, it's too short...

The figure is a prototype, of course, so I'm assuming that the end result will have nice, tight stitching.
The stitching on the one in the photo looks more "by hand".
The material used might also vary a bit, resulting in a slightly different look.
It all needs a little "tayloring"...

hopefully the new body is better than the previous ones my son got the Ash and Jason and they are not very poseable. That being said they are new apes so I am excited and will be getting them!
