Neca to Make New Retro Styled MEGO Apes!!!!

I just came across a post on Facebook by NECA. It is an interview with Randy Falk about the new 7" Planet of the Apes" figures that they are doing. At the end of the interview he informs us of possible new MEGO Apes figures!!!!! I HOPE THIS IS TRUE!!!!!!!!!

well is really makes since. With the new POTA movies doing well and the fact that they released the originals on Blu-Ray shows that this series still has its fans.

This is tremendous news if it comes to light. I hooe its more than just retro though. The need for Mego styled Taylor, Nova, Caesar, and even the Mutant Leader or Brent, is one that i feel is imparative to be filled. None of those characters have had any kind of wide release outside of Medicom, Kubricks or a 12" figure over the years. Mego styled releases to compliment the originals, or repros of the originals would be great. Not to mention alternate astronaut outfits for Cornelius and Zira. Throw in an Armando for good measure......at any rate, retro Apes is something I'd be excited for!

If NECA is planning to make a really great MEGO Apes line, than you can rest assure that we will get the characters that we did not get. I'm sure that they will remake what MEGO has already done as well! I think we are in store for an incredible batch of new MEGO Apes!!!!

Oh hell yes there is definitely a fan base for the original Apes movies. I made a video on my YouTube channel quite recently. I went to Malibu Creek State Park, where most of the first Apes movie and Beneath the Planets of the Apes was filmed. It was quite an adventure. I went to the 4 main filming locations. Check it out! Yes, I can admit I acted like I 10 year old on Christmas morning in this video, but my mind was blown the entire time!

                      Now this could be interesting.

By the way , your doco was a fun watch. Do people know of these locations, because there a tourist thing in the area, or something U had tp do research on? Would be cool to rebuild the ape village, Im sure you'd make a mint, getting people dressed up, and just reliving the whole experiance.

Now THAT would be AWESOME. Would love to see Urko made again. That would be too sweet. Also hopeful they will put the television series out on blu-ray. TO me, that is as iconic as the movies. Love the regular box set they put out for the show. But it would still be a nice bonus to see it in high definition.

cool, they initially said no when i asked them last year. Maybe sales of their figures are better than expected. Hope they have more than just the movie license.

I've read his quote several times. I'm not convinced he's talking about Apes.
