A buddy approached me about doing a vintage toy show in the Portland/Vancouver area and I hold in my hands the contract for an event space.
Saturday May24 this Spring.
Between me and my buddy we know like 50 potential toy vendors and the rental space holds sixty large tables so I'm relatively confident we can fill it up.
The space is its own convention style building plenty of large skirted tables and chairs, possible refreshment booth if desired, free parking, foyer entrance, right off I5 next to the Interstate Bridge, very nice space actually.
The local Gi Joe collectors group wants to set up a 50th anniversary display area and I was thinking a mego vendor corner for our display to celebrate Mego 60th anniversary of existence...also WGSH Alter Ego set has its 40th anniversary in 2014.
This is a huge endeavor that not only requires renting the space but also event tax, insurance, LLC set up and advertising. After waiting patiently for six months, no one in area has an upcoming Vintage toy only show so we are going for it.
As a result I would like to dovetail the next Mego Eat to be at this show. I'm not sure if I can pull off both within thirty days of each other. Is that cool with you guys? We can return it to the pizza place in the fall or if someone wants to host a spring mego eat I will try to attend.
IF YOU WANT TO RENT A TABLE CONTACT ME ASAP! We haven't promoted this yet and I already have ten tables gone. Prices will be reasonable, below industry average as will the early bird and regular admission fees.
I'm really excited for the Mego aspect of this show.
