I watched and enjoyed both series. I would have a hard time sitting through an episode of either these days, much less an entire series. However, if someone forced me to watch one, it would be the Waltons. Once "Manly" came on the scene, Little House turned into a sap fest.

Little House is why grown men cried in the 70's.

The Waltons line got some of the best accessories with the truck, the farm house and especially the general store.

Never mind, I think I read somewhere once that a couple Little House dolls were actually made.

In my house there really wasn't a debate. We watched both. I agree with others, if Mego had made 8 inch figures my sister would have had them.

I saw a couple of eps of The Waltons in the 70s, but I really got into it in the 80s in reruns. I've always liked Little House much better. Because I never had the dolls, my friend and I had to make due w/ the 6" Holly Hobby and friends dolls and playsets from Knickerbocker. I had Carrie, she had Holly.

As a family, we watched both, and I know my sister would have loved figures had they been made. I still should track down those Knickerbocker dolls for her as well. I was always disappointed that Little House seldom featured any action (I wanted it to be a western), but there were enough men (Doc Baker, Rev. Alden, Nells, Pa, Albert, J. Garvey, Mr. Edwards, Mr. Olsen) that it could have been "balanced." Personally, I always found the idea of Waltons figures odd, but it was in an era when they were figuring out which licenses worked.

Wanted: Legends of the West (Empire & Excel) and other western historically-based figures. Send me an offer.
Also interested in figures based on literary characters.
