    yeah they are!! you dont see too many of those at all! mainly loose beat up ones are the only bendys i ever see.

          You know, looking at the Apes cards and some of the other details - I'm inclined to think those are Quality Control Assurance sample, rather than skims of retail product.

          Those would be hand-assembled using production methods and materials, but wouldn't have been done on the assembly line even though they were meant to represent what would be happening. QC samples are often done for sign-off by the client, and enough are made so that some are used for examples at Toy Fair.

          With that in mind, I expect that a lot of these are actually QC samples - and thus probably should be considered prototypes.
