It'd be nice to see some actual photos of the other three figures, rather than the illustrations, but I imagine they'll be available soon with Toy Fair right around the corner.

Now, some comments on the newly announced figures...

    1) Steve Austin: While the red running suit is an obvious choice for the outfit, since the figure is being packaged with Bigfoot, it'd be far more appropriate to have the outfit be the tan khakis (which I've always referred to as Steve's "adventure fatigues". Steve wore the khakis in both "Secret of Bigfoot" episodes (not to mention dozens of others). He wore the khakis far more often than the red running suit (which has already been done by Kenner). The "bendable pipe" is a nice touch, but again, paired with Bigfoot, a tree trunk/log would be better (since Bigfoot uses them to attack Steve in "Secret of Bigfoot 1".

    2) Oscar Goldman: No real complaints here, but I'd prefer to see the suit be one of his solid color ones (grey, dark blue?), rather than the patterned one shown (too similar to Kenner's outfit). The briefcase is also a Kenner repeat, but at least he'll have glasses this time (removable?)

    3) Fembot: I'd much prefer to see one of the early Dr. Dolenz robots (pre-fembot era) instead. The first was Maj. Fred Sloan (John Saxon) and the other was an Oscar robot. The Kenner "Maskatron" was (loosely) based on the Sloan robot, with optional Oscar/Steve masks.

As shown, the Fembot is wearing the outfit of the "Linda" robot (from SMDM "Kill Oscar 2"), but the head is a photo/screen-grab of the "Callahan" fembot from The Bionic Woman's Season 3 episode, "Fembots in Las Vegas 1"! There are significant differences in the circuitry designs of the "Kill Oscar" fembots and the ones in "Las Vegas" (most notably the red/blue upper portion as shown in the pre-order illustration). It'd be far more appropriate for the fembot figure to be modeled after either "Callahan" (especially since it's being packaged with Oscar), or "Katy". In "KO2", Steve fought BOTH Callahan and Katy, but the Linda fembot was shown unmasked only on the lab table.

The fembots are far more closely associated with The Bionic Woman, especially since "KO2" was only shown as a SMDM episode on its original broadcast. Reruns, syndication and foreign DVDs have always had "KO2" reformatted as a Bionic Woman episode (although the recent DVDs have finally presented it in its original SMDM form).

wore in the opening credits and what you saw before each story for 5 years -great choice, and since each figure will be in its own package a pipe is just fine ,cant wait to get these ,oscar sounds perfect ,a 7 million dollar man would be cool ,but i like fembots and so does bender ,hope we see pics soon ,good job bif bang pow.

I like both figures and the transparent leg/arm/soundchip idea is rockin'!

I do have to agree about the RJS, though. I mean, yeah, it's sort of symbolic of the old SMDM figure, but that WASN'T a MEGO or even at MEGO scale, so the khaki outfit Steve wore (quite frequently, so I'm sure he had a whole frikkin' closet full of them) would make this figure more----MEGOey and less like its Kenner counterpart (unless, of course, they're just going for the nostalgia thing). I mean, I'm sure it would cost a wee bit more to ship the figure with both outfits, but c'mon, this IS the SMDM wer're talking about here; I think whomever purchases these would likely pay a little extra for both outfits.

My only other nitpick would be that I, too, think the BB looks a little too "fluffy" and I think they should've made him made a half inch taller than the Steve Austin figure. After all, in the show, Bigfoot always towered over Steve. Maybe some industrious customizer here on the boards can make him a pair a platform furry boots so he doesn't feel inadequate....!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

The Bigfoot figure is going to be taller than Steve—by 1¼" (almost perfect scale).

i think they look great as is. Mego never had things in scale either....i mnean look at hulk, he is an inch shorter than the rest
i have my pre-order in and can't wait
question, will the cards be oversized like the first wave of LOST or will they be smaller like the 2nd wave?

How many figures per case? I'd definitely pre-order a few cases if I could get them at wholesale.

I really want to throw my full support behind this line.

Oscar Goldman's head could be repurposed as a Night Stalker villian: Dr. Richard Malcolm (technically from the Night Strangler).
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

I, for one, am very glad that BBP is using the red jogging suit. I want that iconic look for a first Steve figure. There aren't a ton of characters that could be done from this show that would sell well. So, I'm betting we'll see a rerelease of Steve in the khaki outfit everyone is talking about, eventually.

... and just for the record, I think two or three rereleases of Steve in different outfits would be a good thing. Kind of a throwback to the extra mission suits available for the Kenner figures.

Another small nitpick about the red suit...

As long as they're going for a realistic depiction, the sleeves and pant legs should be shorter and have elastic cuffs like the original Kenner figure had. The later Kenner versions were lacking the elastic cuffs, so the outfit looked like normal red pants and shirt, and not an athletic suit.

At 8" tall, it'd be too difficult to have the small zippers on the sides of the pantlegs, which is why elastic cuffs could be used instead.

On the show when Steve wore the red suit, it almost appears to be slightly too small for him. The bottom of the pantlegs was at the middle of his lower-legs, showing quite a bit of the white socks.

Here are some samples shots: http://en.swoopshare.com/get/s/72f49...it+samples.jpg

And, if they decide to do a Seven Million Dollar Man figure, it could be in the navy blue striped suit.

The red jogging suit is the obvious choice, it connects back to the Kenner toy which sold in the millions. While dedicated fans of the show would prefer different outfits, the amount of casual fans and people who had Steve Austin dolls as a kid greatly outnumber them. Any call backs to Kenner are a wise choice.

I am sure if the line is a hit, subsequent waves will feature variant Steve figures, he is the star.

The could always do a Season 4 mustached Steve variant. By Season 4, Steve had ditched both the khaki fatigues and the red athletic suit. His new athletic suit was a light blue striped one. In place of the khakis? A neverending wave of jumpsuits! Of course, he always wore them zipped down to the waist to show off his hairy chest. Would that make it the first Mego figure with a hairy chest? (Or was that the "Maude" figure from the '70s?)
