I think most of the photos of the 8" figures are actually the 12 inch prototypes. They look like they are on the 12" body to me. Now, the photo on the web page that has the video about the clamshells... those look like they might actually be 8" production samples or something.

Just a thought, I guess. I think most of photos are actually of the 12" figures whether it says 12" or not.

    Then again, maybe not....

This is really great news about CTVT getting another chance at the Re-Mego market with KISS. This is very exciting news. Hope these guys give us a lot more great Re-Mego figures in the future now that they are back in the game. At the same time I am so excited about this news I read that EMCE has " moved on " from Mego. Kinda gives me the same sad feeling I had when I read that Retro Heroes had been cancelled. There's still a lot of really cool properties that have not been mined that I would love to see EMCE do. There are still a lot of characters I would love to see EMCE add to thier existing lines, especially original Star Trek.

Thanks for the link. CTVT is really doing a good job of making a big splash. I have to imagine there are more KISS fans than Mego fans, so hopefully these will sell well.

I'll be picking up the 8" figures, but I'm not sure yet about the 12"-ers. I found a complete set of the original Mego Kiss figures MIB at Bender's in Hampton, Va. on vacation 20 years ago. I paid $315 for the vintage set then, so I'm not sure I could justify $240 for reproductions now.
The 8" line seems fairly priced in comparison (you can get three 8" figures for the price of one 12"), so I'll definitely pick all of those up. If the 12" line was closer to $40-45, I'd probably bite. Don't get me wrong, though, I don't think the price is too out of line considering the cost of the license and the price of other 1/6 figures these days.

I think the 8" figures are definitely priced about right. This is about what most ReMegos are going for at retail.. sometimes more. The 12" figures, however, seem over-priced for what they are. Sure, most sixth-scale figures are in this range or higher but these aren't quite made with the same detail and quality (and rightfully so since these are trying to reproduce the actual Megos... also, think about these in comparison to Medicom's 12" Kiss figures) of most sixth-scale figures being made these days. When I think that I can buy almost 3 of the 8" for the price of one 12", it makes me think that the pricing proportion is a little skewed. So like you said, somewhere closer to $40 per 12" figure sounds about right.... I mean, that's still DOUBLE the price of an 8".

I've been kind of following the reactions to these on the Kissfaq boards. The reactions have been somewhat mixed. A lot of them are excited but there's a fair share saying, "I've already got the Megos."

I think when this line starts moving into other incarnations and eras of the band, many more will take notice and jump in with both feet.

People are going to say a lot of different mixed things but rest assure that when these become 100% available, they will fly off the shelfs!!!

Yeah, you're probably right. I think quite a few fans are probably going to start grabbing them up when other fans and collectors start saying, "Got 'em." Maybe everybody is just still in shock! I know I am.

I never thought I'd see the day...

And how COOL IS IT that we are starting off with 8" versions of the vintage Megos?... and not just random 8" Mego-ish Kiss figures.

I am so happy about all of this. I'm definitley going for the 8 inchers first. Maybe I'll get the 12 inchers later down the road.

This news was such a surprise....it was like being 10yrs old at Christmas.

I haven't read the 9 pages here (yet) but from what I glanced...I agree.
                            8" fig prices seem typical.
12" prices are a little sticker shock. But, if the 12" figs look every bit as reproduction as EMCE's Trek figures...then it is justified.

If anything, I'd say I'm not sure about the hair - pics just don't look like the hair has been styled like the figs from Mego. Ace's hair is waaay to straight...and so is Paul's. Peter's hair..meh...could be better.
The backer card artwork...I do not like. Looks rushed, layout doesn't feel right..being KISS I'd expect more.

Repro 12" Mego box sets will get built by the dozens I expect.

I hope the pricing on the 12 inchers don't keep the line from continuing to make all the other costumes. Wouldn't it be cool to see an Elder figure set? That would be amazing.

Yes! Just ordered the 8" figures. I'm thinking the guitars and bass from the MacFarlane KISS figures will look in scale with these. Something has to be done w/the footwear but that's fixable.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.
