I was 5 and asked my Mom for many, many superheroes that X-Mas. I had a long list but she said I couldn't have them all because we didn't have the money. Dad had worked for Ma Bell Telephone and we were still in financial straights due to a long strike that had ended. I recall Dad would work many weekends and all available overtime hours he could get for years to come to get out of the hole the strike left us in. My brother and I did get Batman & Robin, Superman, Spider-Man, Shazam!, The Falcon, Star Trek guys, Batlab, Batmobile, Batcycle a little at a time over the prime Mego years. I missed out on Captain America, the Fantastic Four, Iron-Man and 8" HULK, (asked for the 12" HULK instead-D'oH! What was I thinking!?!?!). I managed to catch up as an adult tho.Last edited by johnmiic; Sep 27, '11, 1:41 AM.Comment

I was 8 in the summer of '74, and had all the Megos I was going to get as a child. In '71 I got Action Jackson, in '72 I got another one plus 2 outfits, and for Christmas of '73 I got the Dancing Lainie doll. But I did enjoy watching cool Mego commercials on TV for a long time after that."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment
