It's not like you can just go down to the nearest toy store and get them.
You can't get a Mego Spiderman at Wal-Mart, but he's still common.

Plus, they ALL still go for hundreds!!
Rarity isn't the only determining factor. High demand can raise the price of a less rare item.

Just because you have access to some of them doesn't mean everyone does.
What does rarity mean, then, if not how many are available? Access isn't part of the equation.

And even if you do, they are still in low quantity.
You asked about the most rare pieces. Some of the figures you named aren't even close.

So, I stand by it, if you don't like it , don't post.
If you can't accept the answers you get, don't ask the questions.

Dan's observations are accurate, he spends more time on the subject than a lot of people. Many of the items you listed shouldn't be near a top ten list.

"But since the 8" stuff can't really compare to the Elastic stuff in total value and rarity I'm always into the Elastic's"
That's absolutely not true and if this is the point of this exercise, I feel somewhat cheated.

I am going to have to completely agree in every way, no one should collect Mego just for elastic items, 8 inch is the heart and soul and not to mention basis for practically all Mego lines,
        so there!

Of course that's the point of this exercise and every other one of his posts.

I stand by what I say. Anybody who thinks carded Teen Titans are rare has no idea what he's talking about. The other stuff I pointed out is not even close to a top ten rare list. Huckabone was sitting next to me in my car the day before this manipulative thread was started, and he was saying how he used to have 6 Kresge Aquamans and he couldn't find a buyer for any of them - and that's the most rare item in the list of not so rare items that I pointed out.

              boxed jet jungle 1
              carded wonderwoman 2
              Bill GAH prototype 1
              web handed aquaman 1
              sleeved wondergirl 1
              carded ff robin 2
              carded palitoy cap 1
              kresge shazam 2
              carded bradgate zaius 2
              carded bradgate soldier ape 1
              albino soldier ape 2
              grease prototypes 1 set
I'm sure theres many more I'm not thinking of, especially wgsh items.
would any stretchies make this list?

              Mike,

You left out the green Palitoy Lizard. I am under the assumption there are 2 known to exist. Also, Dan would know all with regards to the 8" WGSH cards. Hey Dan just curious but what about the Parkdale Spider-Man and the Grand Toys Spidey? I have NEVER seen a Grand Toys Spidey. Also, what if a circle suit Kresge Spidey turned up! Ahh, the things that keep my inner mego spidey collector interested...

Aaron, I have seen 5-10 Parkdale Spidermans. They used to be less uncommon but seem to have dried up the past 2-3 years.

There was a Grand Spidey on Ebay a few months ago that went cheap in a Buy It Now. I believe it was Tom L who nabbed it, lucky guy.

Forgive my ignorance, but are you speaking of Grand toys 8'' carded spidey or the 12'' boxed? I know the 12'' is somewhat difficult to find and I have yet to personally see 8'' spidey on a grand card. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, so could have missed it...LOL!! Thanks!!

Of course I did and it's very sweet (as corn syrup should be). It's funny, but alot of kids during the 70's were known to eat the syrup inside of a stretch.
Here's a link to a kids story about it.

I know your point was to make fun of my obsession for the stretches but this was more common than you think.

Aaron was asking about the 8" carded figure, so that's what I was referring to as well. I have a picture somewhere if someone is interested.

I think I remembering reading or seeing something about an elastic-Batman figure that sold for thousands upon thousands of dollars awhile back. I think that alone has to be a rare and pricey figure. Did anyone ever own one?
