To me, I dont mind repro parts. They are not my fisrt choice, however. BUT, even for those who HATE repro parts, they are better than nothing and if you have an item with a repro part you can always upgrade latter.

I think repro parts are an invaluable tool in completing figures that would otherwise never see their full potential. My latest example were the original Teen Titan figures I purchased over the Christmas holiday. Great, great deal on them too. But they were missing some parts. No problem. Paul got me lined up with those pieces. And better yet, he got them delivered by Christmas which meant everything to me. I even had Teressa make me outfits for the AquaLad and Speedy figures. And I have to tell you, they were spot on perfect (as were Paul's items). So when I added all of those pieces to those original figures, they looked like brand new, store bought, Megos. And the repro pieces blended perfectly with the authentic figures. It fulfilled a life long dream I had of being able to display the Titans along side my other Mego favorites. I like to think I collect memories. And repro parts play an invaluable role in completing those images.

        Love is all you need

Absolutely - we all love MEGO - and love has many different forms.
I have carded and boxed as well as incomplete and complete loose
figures (that's right - Dr. Mego's toys don't always get finished)

I absolutely respect the fans that only want vintage parts or carded
time capsules - they help us all know what was made by MEGO.
I admire their resolve to keep that figure sealed and perfect.

But if this hobby were only focused on that, it would be a very
small group without much to discuss. Customizing keeps this
hobby young and exciting - whether it's making a Flash or changing
Capt. America's boots and sleeves to make them comic accurate.

I agree. Would be a small hobby without the reproduction parts and that wouldn't be as much fun. It's really just the unmarked stuff that has me working double time to learn and identify, but I have managed to get what I want in the past five years or so and don't have a huge hunt need anymore.

Leapin' Larry doesn't have a problem with repros since he doesn't collect anything! ;-p
