    mego prototypes/grail

I take it everyone has heard of the Flash, Green Lantern and Dr Doom prototype floating around.
Also there has been rumors of a Tribble for the Star trek line.

I think a big untalked about grail/grails would be finding any orginal scupts for figures that were actually produced.... ie Captain Kirk, Shazam and even Ralph Malph etc.

So far, i've heard of none.

Does any original sculpts of Mego figures exist today ?

i think some still exist out there somewhere. With the market flooded in all toy eras with fakes and forgeries I this prototypes is a loose word. Many peole can't understand the differences in prototypes , firstshots etc. If you scan ebay everyone lists prototypes in different ways.
I would think there's more than you think out there somewhere. Maybe some of the collectors aren't out in the open with sharing there collection. who knows.

Doesn't someone have the sculpt of Bruce Jenner, who was supposed to be added to the CHIPS line?

Those are rumours, nothing legitimate has ever surfaced, so the only thing floating around is conjecture.

There are a bunch of legitimate prototypes out there that haven't been discussed. Things such as head sculpts, clays and finished figures that hopefully one day, I'll be able to reveal.

I just wrapped an interview that will have a few pictures and reveals a superhero figure that didn't get released. The person in question used to take discarded items home as gifts for his girlfriend, now his wife. Look for it in December.

Oh and prototypes I've seen in person or have at least seen photos of:

                    Vincent drinking straw
Handpainted 12" Superman (this one is in Toronto!)
                    Spock Drinking straw
                    The Logan characters (duh)
                    Maximilian
                    Ralph from GAH
                    Pam from GAH
                    Bill from GAH
A WGSH character with a different head sculpt (sadly can't say more)
                    Old B.O.B Magnetic
                    Vincent Robot
                    Old B.O.B
Ray Miller has a bunch of Micronaut aliens he has willingly brought to megomeet (they rock)
I also think Roberto has some sort of factory sample with his web handed Aquaman.

Stuff that was on display at the original Mego-Con in Ohio, photography was NOT allowed:
                    Ferrigno Hulk head
                    Michael York Logan 5
                    Jenny Agutter Jessica 6
                    Richard Jordan Francis 7
                    Ursa
                    Non

Other one of a kinds that are out there are the following:

Flesh colored sleeves Wondergirl (Rudy has this one I think)
Grey Stallion (Stabilio has this one)

Then there are the few example figures such as the Horse Coverings from the Knights that came out of Germany and the varaitions on the Circle Suit Spiderman figures (Diamond Logo, Broken Circle etc.)

As for the Jenner head/bronze Proto...I think that ended up with Jon Bonavita if I'm not mistken and then was sold again to someone else that I can't remember...could have been Huck...not sure.

One question about Ralph from GAH...being that there are about half a dozen of them out there...wouldn't they also be considered Factory Samples??? Prototype, IMHO, would be a one of a kind exclusive to that stage of development in creating/producing a toy...Like in the Star Wars field: First Shot etc.

I think the same would go for Pam...there are at least a half dozen of those out there too. I've personally seen and held 2 examples of Pam, one carded and one loose. Bill would be a different story, because I've never seen one surface yet. Then again, I am not privy to what goes on with some of the "Heavy Hitters" in Mego collecting world.

Their eyes can't hope to see
                            The beauty that surrounds them
                            Isn't it a pity".

I think the Jenner bronze head was sold when John became ill.
Then there's the webhand Aquaman too!
