I love the old ads. Drawn ads had so much more adventure to them in my brain rather than an actual photo.
Ain't it the truth? A lot of the kids I know these days don't even read comic books. When I used to take my class to the comic shop, most of them didn't even own any comics! Who needs to read about their favorite heroes when there's DVDs, cable and the internet?

Life was so much sweeter back in the day!

Those comic ads were pretty much my only connection to Mego WGSH, but a strong connection it was. I used to be mesmerized by the ads, but the notion of having to mail away for them to a strange place made me regard them as unattainable.

Yeah, those ads were mysterious. I so wanted to send away but had no clue how to go about it.

^Exactly. Other than the occasional drug store visit with my mom, I spent little to no time in stores or toy aisles, so I never saw the toys in person to make the connection.

I did beg my mom for a spidey web-shooter at the drug store, so at least that was something..

That first ad posted was really a home run for me as a kid because it was probably the first time I saw Megos (and even Crazy Foam and Aurora models for that matter) even though I had no idea about the word Mego. just that one ad brings back a flood of great memories for me. Now I look back and notice, hey, that Spidey figure is a circle suit!
