Hello to all Megonites!
My name is SuperMego. I have just joined and also just figured out how to post! My 9 year old son just had a birthday and he got all things Mego. I was telling him how I was his age (a little younger) when Megos first hit the toy stores. He's really into fixing up my originals. We're waiting on some repro boxes to make the restorations complete. I told him the only difference between him and I is that I bought only the megos I wanted to play with. I wasn't a collector back then. That's why I don't have any of the female figures. (Except for Uhura (sp?). Santa brought me her one Christmas for some reason. She's in great condition because she wasn't played with like, at all.) I just got a repro figure from Classic TV Toys. They call him "JJ." When I first saw the link I thought it was a repro JJ Arms! I was so excited because the only accessories I have left is his red suitcase with a suction-cup and gun-hand attachment. Needless to say it wasn't the original JJ Arms but a white-haired Bruce Wayne sculpt (I think) with big, black eyebrows. He's kinda like an Action Jackson with black turtle neck, black pants and black combat boots. The JJ logo on his chest is diamond-shaped much like the Action Jackson logo. Very cool. I was even given an extra treat when it came in the mail packaged in just a thin, plastic bag, just like the ones I've seen in the Sears/Roebuck catalog that they used to mail out. I was too young then to order my own but there was something very aesthetically pleasing about getting a Mego through the mail like that.
Well, I hope I didn't bore anyone too bad. I have a lot to talk about and again, am excited to share this wonderful world of Mego with fellow fans. I'm a big Big Jim fan (Wolf Pack, of course) and am excited to think of the possibilities of a repro-run of that line.
Thanks for welcoming me into your Mega. Mego community!
