I only had the Star Trek crew and a couple WGSH (Torch and Thing) when I was a kid, and I have no clue what happened to them. A friend and I set up a card table in my yard and had a "toy sale" of my old toys when I was about 13 or 14 (needed $$ for arcade games), so they could've been sold then. Or chucked years before, for all I know. I didn't really have a sentimental attachment to my toys as I got older. Not until I hit my 30s, that is..

I had the original 8 WGSH T1 bodies in boxes, later got a few of others plus 6 Star Trek. Still have the Trek and my first 4 WGSH - Superman, RC Batman, Robin and Aquman. I sold the others myself. Now I'm buying some of it back, go figure.
Still have A LOT of my original 12" G.I. Joe stuff from the 60's and early 70's and Jonny West, plus some Big Jim stuff.

hi.my mom knew i collected megos at the time with my brothers and friends, and never touched them, except when she bought them for us on birthdays and christmas, and i still have them all..the early ones are all battle damaged but we fixed them,if i knew how to post pictures i will show them someday,we had most of them ,all the superheros except secret idenitys, multible copies on most, all trek except mugato, romulan and andorian, all the apes, many copies, big at the time,we use to give them other names,we had wizard of oz,western figures, mad monsters, action jackson,dinah-mite-because she was made the same, waltons, and later starsky and hutch, happy days, and dukes, but by that time we werent playing anymore.but i still collected them, and in the end wound up with all my brothers and some friends figures, and later started to buy the figures when i saw them at garage sales ,doll shows, worked at goodwill as a cashier, and found them there, but didnt have the sense to keep them in packages, now with the new stuff i get to continue.

My Mom not only kept them, but also kept hunting for them at flea markets.
She picked up a ST Romulan for...$01.25. Totally mint, just missing his original boots.
She also bought every Action Man she found, I now have over 100....

Nope. But she cant remember what happened to them either. It seems to me they went the way of a yard sale when I was about 16. I actually remember the day I put them in a box in our basement.

Yes. I still have all the action figures that I had as a kid
(Big Jim, Mego/Lion Rock WWII soldiers, Action Team (GI JOE 12") and Star Wars).

My parents kept my action figures in some cardboard-boxes in the cellar of their house for many years.
Later, when I moved to my current flat I took my old figures with me.
I am glad that I still have them, although they are in played-with condition.

My parents were the ones who urged me to take care of my toys, and pack them away when I got too old for them. And then, inexplicably, when I was about 16 my parents were cleaning out the basement and storage room and threw away ALL of them. My dad had told me to go through the boxes to decide what I wanted to keep. I told him no, because I wanted to keep ALL of it, so there was no point. I had wrongly assumed he would leave it alone, but he threw all of it away instead, when I wasn't home. By the time I'd realised what he'd done, they were gone. I was devastated. Still am, really. I still don't even really understand what the point was of them throwing it all away, they weren't making space for anything else to go there in it's place or anything. My parents had a tendency to just do odd things.

Only things I managed to hang onto, because they'd never been stored away and were always kept out for display were my KISS megos, which I still have thankfully. Those are the only toys I have left from my childhood, and I had ALOT of toys *sigh*

And so a collector was born, lol.
