Did Your Mom Keep Your Megos For You?

Wondering how many of you out there have the EXACT same megos you had when you were a kid. Not to brag but thankfully my mom let me keep all my kids toys including megos. I had (have) two Batmans and Robins, one Shazam and Superman. All type two. I had to do some glueing and my superman suit is in shreds but all are still part of my display now. I also still have the batmobile, batlab and Empire batcopter. Batlab has seen better days. Need to start to rehab it one of these days. Before you get too envious you should listen to what my wife's mom did. She got her two of most of the Strawberry shortcakes and gave my wife one to play with and kept the other in the box for her for later. Don't we all wished we had her as a mom! Anyway it will be interesting to see the response. Thanks for your input. Just was curious.
Wanted:- 12" Robin Shoes; Mego Batcave, Mego Die-cast Batman-loose, Mattel-BSG Gold Cylon loose.

My mom didn't, but I kept some childhood Megos and other toys myself. I still have my childhood Mego Joker (I got him when I was six years old as a reward for learning to tie my shoes ), Dr Zaius, Keeper, Spider-man, Batcopter, KISS dolls, and a bunch of assorted heads and pieces. I've since upgraded some of these, but I'll never get rid of the originals because they have sentimental value. I've owned some of these things for over 35 years, so I have no intention of letting them go now. I wish I had hung onto more, but the rest of my old Megos just somehow disappeared over the years.

I had 14 total Megos as a kid plus the Batmobile, that was all. I kept them in a toy box in the bottom of my closet after I "out-grew" them. They stayed there until college when I rediscovered them. All but my original Batman, Robin and Superman are proudly in my collection now.

Nope. Although I don't think my mom is totally to blame for the loss of my Megos, I'm pretty sure she did "donate" some of them. Others most likely got destroyed by me, or got tossed once I noticed girls. I have none from childhood, but I do have all my old Star Wars figures and Legos. Wish I had had better foresight.

My mother pulling out my megos in a shoe box is what got me back into collecting.

I've posted this picture before, but I will never forget the amazing sense of awe when I saw this collection again a couple of years ago. I thought all of it was long gone but they were in storage in a mislabeled box. As a kid, I kept packaging, too, and my mom told me (when I brought all of this stuff out) that since I liked it and thought it was important to keep, all of that wound up in storage, too. They just weren't kitchen items, though
            It's all good!

I was forced to sell Megos, GI Joes, SMDM, Best of the West, Big Jim when I was about 13 at a garage sale. Some Megos escaped somehow and didn't get sold...But I was traumatized nonetheless.....

I think I might break down and cry if I found this in my parent's garage. And trust me, over the years I've looked.

Nope. I'm doomed to harbor resentment from when she donated many of my beloved toys to a lousy church garage sale when I was about 12 or 13. Star Wars, mego, Big Jim, Gre-gory, Shogun and who knows what else. All that managed to escape the culling were a couple of boxes I had stashed away. I have forgiven, but I haven't forgotten.

I still have my Dr.Zaius, Cornelius, and Soldier Ape. Those were the only Mego figures i had back then. Also still have my Big Jim, G.I.Joe, Six Million Dollar Man, and Evel Kneivel. One thing i haven't been able to locate is my Planet of the Apes lunchbox though .

i myself kept my Megos. never gave up the love for them. tjhey werre packed away in my parents attic for several years though while i was in college and until I got my own place.....however, I played with my toys so most of them were not in the greatest shape....still have my original Penguin, Riddler, Joker, Robin, Lizard, Spidey, Myx, Kirk, Spock, Scotty, Zaius, Cornelius, Ape Soldier and various parts for other figures I have since re-purchased. had to upgrade costumes on some of my childhood figures....also some of the bodies.

Not Megos, I kept some things, (and my stupid sis-in-law threw some of that out when she had a tantrum and went on a cleaning binge when we were staying w/ them). I only had 3 Megos as a kid (Lainie, 2 AJs), but I've more than made up for that now. (one day, I'm gonna get my Lainie fixed).
