I collect mostly WGSH, Trek and Apes from Mego but can't pass up a great deal when I see it so I do have various carded figures from other lines, just not on display.
Also collect the vintage Captain Action sets and GI Joe Adventure team.
If something else catches my fancy I might pick it up, if the cash is there.
for me it is all about what I loved and played with as a kid, which was Mego and GI Joe. The Cpt. Action was a natrual collecting extension from both. I did collect Star Wars for a while, and still have quite a bit but it is all packed away and over the years I slowly trade or sell it off....or give it to my son to actually play with (gasp!)

I used to collect a bit of everything but now that I'm older and running out of space, I've started to limit what I get.
      Mego WGSH and Trek
      Batman stuff
DCUC (mostly the Bat related characters)
Super Powers (I consider my SP collection finished with the exception of Shazam. That is to say I got every character I ever cared about.)
Transformers (I'm done collecting them but I have a good collection)
GIJOE (same as Transformers. The movies killed both lines for me. They were just too horrible for words and they started focusing on toys relating to said disasters and I lost interest)
I used to collect Star Wars but I got out of that too.

My toy tastes and attention span is all over the place. But my main toy loves are Universal Monsters and 80s toys.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

When it comes to Mego I stick to Batman related Megos, Star Trek and the monsters.
              Beyond that anything vintage Batman

"Collect" is a loose term in my case because the days of frequent additions to my collections are over. When I do buy it's something related Mego WGSH or Kenner Star Wars
the two dominant toy memories from childhood.

Depends on which collection...Megos: My personal preference are the WGSH line...all loose and all Type 2 (with the few exceptions of the figures that were released as just Type 1's)
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                        The beauty that surrounds them
                        Isn't it a pity".

All Mego related figures with Action Jackson being my favorite!
Even though the head sculpt is not the best, between outfits that are packed with accessories, vehicles and play sets you can really build a diversified collection!

The only Megos that I had as a child were those Lion Rock WWII soldiers.
I had a few other figures (Big Jim, Action Team/ 12" GI JOE and Star Wars).
But I think the Lion Rocks were my favourites.

As an adult I collect figures from different lines. I always try to define some subset of figures
that I should buy from one line, so that I don't buy too many.
But over the years there have been so many great lines (old and new) that I collected,
so that I am currently running out of space (I collect since 10 years now!).

I bought some of the Wizard of Oz figures from Mego and since one year I try to get a complete set
of those Lion Rock WWII soldiers. So that could still be considered my MAIN line after all .

I was never a fan of the CAH's or Pocket Heroes ... Probably because I never had them as a kid so I don't care about them now.

This thread is like AA for Mego collectors.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.
