Creatures, aliens, freakish things, puppets of all types, monsterous things, strange things....
('human'-type characters bored me as a kid, and they typically do now..)
Mego(ish) -
Trek Aliens, Apes, certain WGSH, Mad Monsters, Tomland, Azrak, Henshin, etc.
Also really dig -
KRUSHER, Bigfoot, Yeti, Gre-Gory, Primate Man, Ooze-It, Masters of the Universe VILLIANS, Shogun Warriors, Pulsar, Marx Monsters, Marx Vikings, Stretch Monsters, Been Cooper Monsters, Des Horribles, Imperial Dinosaurs, Jigglers/Oilies, Playset figures/monsters, Puppets, Marionettes, Too many Remco lines to list, ....and on and on...
This is one of my "holy grails" - just need a grand or two!
(I know some of them appear repulsive or disturbing, but its OK - they kill Nazis! Many of them look AMAZING to me, but I'm all about 'Pinhead', hes the guy in the orange sweater..)
Hmmm… not so much about collecting as reminiscing… I was a "collector" of horror movie memorabilia for years… my surviving Mego monsters stood alongside my Bandai Godzillas, Gameras & Ultramen in my display cabinet. Now as new father, I'm all about "collecting" toys that my son enjoys… He's shown an interest in the Mego monsters so I'm fixing up the 35+ year old figures and adding new additions for him to enjoy. I'm sure superheroes like Spiderman & Batman will join the fun, along with Planet of the Apes and Star Trek as well. I've also been glad to see update/reissues of the Outer Space Men. If Major Matt Mason lands back on Earth, it will truly be childhood 2.0 for this father.
I have eclectic taste, but all Mego, it really depends on whats in the bank balance at the time and if the mood strikes. Sometimes, i'll go for something and if i don't get it for the price that i am willing to pay, then I'll move onto some other Mego item. There are plenty of Megos around at the moment that might get my money and it is definitely a buyers market.
I loved Chris and Derek's Spidey items so much that I diverted away just Titans and FF items to start collecting those vintage items. The main trust of Mego WGSH and Trek came a bit late for me to really get into, since I was more into Joe and Captain Action.
I started just collecting Trek and 1999 figures about 10yrs ago, and it's extended primarily to Marvel WGSH since. Looking forward to buying the FF Baxter Building display. I don't have a place for it, but I really have to have it...
Primarily WGSH super hero stuff. 8" figures, not real big on the playsets or vehicles though. With the Mego lines I don't touch waltons, Oz, Starsky Hutch, as I never had any special connection with those shows as a kid. Though Nayrbgo's "Shazam Yisrael" Huggy Bear custom was pretty awesome.
I like the vintage super hero stuff, to the exclusion of most contemporary figures that stock shelves. (New Mego stuff being the exception)
I'm fairly myopic in collecting and cheap. Not a good combination.
I collect Superman and Shazam figures almost exclusively. I've played with the idea of getting DC Classics of my favorite Justice League characters. I also like picking up oddball 70's figures that are not in the mainstream like Pulsar, Electroman and Bulletman. I've been really wanting to find a Grizzly Adams. Most of my cash flow goes to customs when I actually have money.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.
For Mego stuff I'm into 8" WGSH, Trek & Apes mainly, but do have an affinity towards CAH, Bendies and 12" figs.....
For non Mego--I basically have a 70s focus. Basically any seventies toys that excite me. Tomlands, Evel Kneivel, Shogun Warriors, Star Wars (1st movie toys only!), Krofft, AT Joes, Battlestar Galactica, SMDM etc etc.....
