I also participate on old school bmx forums and they can get a bit *****y, and it has been known that bogus ebay accounts have been set up to give certain people a bad name.

I dont know what has happened here, but you can only deal with this situation in the way that gets you sorted out. I'd go ahead and make your claim.

Checking lists of sellers is always a good guide, and you'll be surprised by what can be found.

I hope it works out for you, its always annoying when the excitement of getting something gets tarnished by the transaction.

I am THRILLED for you Joseph that the person named here did right by you in the end!! Nice to hear of a happy ending nd I hope your enjoyment of your new MIB Lizard can be had now worry-free! As if you didn't already know, I'd avoid future transactions with said person. I won't add my two cents worth on him as everyone else here has already painted the picture for you. I've never had an actual transaction with the man mind you; I just don't like the way he's abused people here at the Museum that I respect in the past who wholly didn't deserve it. I'm just glad this ended amicably for you, especially since this was your first Mego transaction. Thomas is correct, however, that most people here are simply awesome people, the salt-of-the-earth, and I think you're going to love it here! There is no other site that comes close to Mego Museum in terms of all things Mego. It truly is the place to be...just always proceed with caution when engaging in transactions here and anywhere...love many, trust few, and always paddle your own canoe.

Welcome......In my opinion your doing right by going the Paypal route. I never bought or sold to him but it didn't stop him from consantly emailing and harrassing me even after requests to stop. My opoinion is very low. Good Luck.

Update:
The situation is resolved. Robert Acquarulo refunded me $100 of the $225cost for the difference in condition, and is sending me an acrylic case for the figure (as promised in our orig agreement). It'll keep me from buying another Lizard right away and is a fair price for one in that conditon (IMO). Lesson learned on my part, and time to put this thread to bed.

I would consider it inappropriate to post private messages in a public forum. Truthfully there is enough angst between these two sites, there is no reason to fan the flames.

You have given enough detail in your story for me to remember to be wary when dealing with certain parties. It would seem you have reminded yourself of that as well, and that was the original intent of this post - to find out if a seller was trustworthy and made a mistake or if you should end your transaction.

I certianly don't want to cause any drama, between sites, and I already figured that it would be bad form to post his messages. He's offering a full refund at this point. I'm still going to use Paypals dispuit feature unless he's willing to refund before I return, as I'm leary of sending it back w.o Paypals protection. But other than his first snarky outbursts, he's remained reasonably civil. Especially compared to the stories that I've been told of his previous actions. I just wish I knew then what I know now. Chalk it up to not knowing his history in the hobby.
