Update: He finally replied, and is asking me "what was I thinking". I replied telling him that I thought I'd be getting the item I paid for, in the condition described. I sent another cordial and nice for the most part reply, depending on how smug or sincere his reply is, I may be doing a paypal claim by the end of the day. Why do I always find the difficult ones to deal with....

    Cheers
    Joe

At megocentral, if you use the word museum in a post,
it gets translated to "other site" or something like that.
So just for fun, I mentioned that I went to the Metropolitian
other site of Art in Manhattan.

    Small things amuse me.
Are you serious?! What's his problem? I know we all like to play with toys, but some folks seriously need to grow up.

The ebay photos weren't very clear, but it really doesn't look like the same box to me either. In addition to the missing price stickers, there are small dots and stains in different places on each box. Some of those may just be the photos, but either way the price stickers seem to be the most obvious difference.

Quoting: "I just wanted to post and see what others thought of him and to see if he has a good or bad history with this kind of bs. I don't want to jump the gun and go to paypal with a claim if he's generally a good guy and takes care of busines properly."

I certainly understand your wanting some background on this seller, but even if things fall apart in your communications with him, you can still get your money back through PayPal. I've had many an eBay mess resolved through PayPal. One of the strangest was when I bought an issue of Batman and when it arrived it was a mini-comic reprint! Nothing was mentioned in the auction about if being a mini-comic, it was just a picture of the comic. Anyway, the seller refused to answer emails, etc., so I was forced to handle it through PayPal. I filled out the forms, shipped the item back, and input my Delivery Confirmation number. When PayPal received notice that the item had been returned, I received a full refund, all with no input from the seller.

    Good luck with your situation.

Welcome to the forums, Joe. I'm very familiar with your posts on rebelscum, where I'm pretty well at the same "newbie" status where you are here, so I can relate. And anyone who collects cool foreign stuff like the "Uzay" SW figures is cool in my book. I sincerely hope that things work out for you with "he who cannot be named", and hope that it doesn't sour you on collecting Megos.

and Welcome to the megomuseum my friend. good to see an old name I know and trust

Thanks for the welcome and vouching for my character Russ and Jon. Good to see some friends here. I've been lurking for a bit, just gathering info before jumping headlong into posting (and buying).

    Cheers

Jon, here are the pics I took today of the Lizard that I received. Absolutely not the one in the auction pic.

I've known Joe for 13 years and have nothing but positive things to say about him. I've bought, sold and traded many items with Joe and never had any issues whatsoever. It really sucks that Joe just started collecting Mego's and his first experience had to be a negative one.

I'd like to see the pic of The Lizard you received Joe and compare it to the auction. I find it odd that The pic used in The Lizard auction is completely different than the Mister Fantastic boxed Mego he had on auction. The Mister Fantastic auction shows the front and back of the box in 2 separate pics while The Lizard auction shows every side of the box in 1 pic. I know the seller, but never made any transactions with him. In my opinion, if Joe said it happened, it happened.

Already planning on it, once the wallet's back up to spending capacity(I don't want to ask for things I can't buy). In addition to the Lizard that I'm having the issue with. I also just bought a boxed Batman Crime Lab Van, so with those 2 pieces, there goes my Mego budget for a few weeks.

Cheers, and thanks for all of the warm welcomes to the forum.
