However, If I had Money to Spend ..., I would pick up carded Exzamples of The Bat Family. But I would never buy a MIB Figure.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

When I started collecting, it was all loose figures. Over time, I'd pick up a carded or boxed figure if the price was right. I have a good number of carded figures now. I set a limit for myself on what I'd pay for any carded figure, so I never spent a fortune on them. I only have a few boxed figures and as with the carded figures, I only picked them up when I could get them for cheap.
As to why I collect what I collect, I love the packaging art, but I can't really afford a lot of figures in the package, so I collect mainly loose, but pick up the figures in the package when I see them for a good price.Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.Comment

I prefer boxes over everything but also dabble in carded. I always seem to have a loose one to display as well.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

I prefer carded mostly. I'll buy original carded figures when I can afford them, I have some repro cards for the figures that are way out of my price range. The dream is to someday replace the repros with the real deal but that might be asking a bit much! I have some original boxed figures too, and a fair amount of loose figures. I think the boxed ones are my least favorite, mainly because it's not how I remember them (I didn't start getting Megos 'til around 1976), and I just love the way carded figures look on display.Comment

I'm not a big fan of carded because I'm afraid they will get damaged or the bubble will fall off and then what was the point of paying the extra $$ for them? I have 3 carded currently. One mint, unpunched Klingon from a warehouse find case; one Coy, unpunched with slight bubble dings and a couple card dings/crease, one unpunched Boss Hogg with yellowed bubble that I'm thinking about popping. Everything else I have is loose except for the occasional item that I stumbled upon cheap with the original boxes. Sometimes things are more common in the box than loose and that sucks because no matter how low on the collectible totem pole that item is, it still commands a premium price due to being in the original packaging.
Plus I prefer being able to display/pose the figures rather than have them sealed up and untouchable.
I can appreciate the beauty of a wall full of MOC figures but it's just not my goal.
I wouldn't mind obtaining a few boxes to display behind some loose figures but that's about the extent of my packaging desires and even those I wouldn't go out of my way to obtain because I just can't see paying so much for a cardboard box.
