I agree, the Shazam head sculpt is hideous. The only sculpt I really like is Cheetah. She is the only one of the whole lot I would buy.

I will say this about the Retro Actions. I am amazed how good they look in person. I didn't care for the Batman until I saw it for real, the pics lose something. So don't base too much on your initial reaction. And seeing all of them together like that really takes your breath away.

The stuffed suit on Darkseid is a bad move, no doubt. I like the Shazam sculpt, myself...

The Twilight Zone figures are GORGEOUS, wow, they are the most beautiful Megos...They and Venture both look fantastic in packaging.

Yes, the TZ figures are the best Mego-like figures since the 70's. LOVE them!

Scott, by any chance did you hit the Gentle Giant booth? Wondering how much those 12" versions of the original 3 3/4" Kenner Star Wars figures are going to cost and when they are due out.

I'm really enjoying these pix & like most of the offerings.

Two thoughts:

1. Some of the heads do not seem opaque. (I know this is a sore subject--I'm assuming we're still looking at protos.)

2. Capt. Cold (awesome!) seems to have Mr. Freeze boots & cuffs--no fur trim?

Re: The heads on Flash/Ming and Lost. They are not transparent, but the color is weird and kind of gives that illusion. It's a color mix issue of the factory not getting the skin tone right. The Flash and Ming are not final product, but Jacob and MIB had to be delivered for SDCC so they had to go with with what they got---which isn't terrible, but they are a little funky.

I think the Dude is the best indication that the heads will eventually be as they should be.

Wow. All I can say is Wow. I am so glad to see all of the new Mego like figures. I joined this forum one year ago today. Before last years SDCC, I was thinking about getting into Mego customizing again. Then I found out that Mattel was making the Retro figures and I was hooked! I sold off all of my DCUC and Marvel Legends figures. I am now a Retro only collector. I am sad about one thing however, there is so much great stuff coming out that I can't possibly collect them all.
