It's not that I am just thankful, I really dig how the figure turned out. I think it looks fantastic. I love the simple retro look of it. Heck, I'm kinda missing the oven mitts.

Amen brotha... I don't think there's even a remote case for argument here. DC Direct BURIES Mattel. Oh he's so grim! For shame!

Even if you shrink it to 8 inches, it's still not in retro Mego style. An 8 inch DC Direct is essentially a Flattworld style figure. There's nothing wrong with that. But, again, it's not Mego style.

I like the Retro Action Heroes because they don't look modern. The face sculpts have that happy 70s vibe Mego was so famous for. I don't care for the super ticked off/muscle straining/constipated look of many modern figures.

It's all a matter of personal taste. There is no I'm right or you're wrong.

Tried to like them but just couldn't. Don't like the gears holes in the arms. Love the cartoon though.

Don't like the JL sculpting style.

Couldn't get into DC Direct. Scale and sculpting styles too all over the place.

That is a nice one. But I still like this one better. I like the retro Mego style.

Don't like the 9 inch scale. Couldn't get into any of those figures, Marvel or DC. Make them 8 inch or 12 inch. Don't like the odd ball scales like 9 and 13.

Those are cute and I bought a couple of sets. Still like the Retro Action style better.

Don't like mini mates or any of the Urban Vinyl style stuff.

Don't remember that one off hand.

I'm sorry some people don't like the Retro Action Batman. I think it's great. To each their own.

Whether or not you like the figures, or scale, or whatever isn't why I quoted you. You stated that you dislike "Grim and Gritty Dark" Batman, and implied as if there was nothing but that out there. I was only trying to point out, that there is , which you Obviously did Know .

After reading Batman Comics for 25+ yrs...., I just have difficulty even axcepting this particular version of the Character, that really Captures no Essense of the character, with the Absolute Worst cape design in the History of Batman toys . This figure imo, could have been so much better , rather than yeah, here you go you should be thankful because We made you an 8inch Batman for the 1st time in 30 yrs. If truth be Told, I am not a real big fan of this " Grim and Gritty Dark" Batman you speak of either and am a Batman Collector of sorts, mostly for that 1 look ...., which I have everything I listed and then some. I also really believe that the Inital targeting Audience with these Figures, is Not Children, it is Us collectors, or people that collected the Mego figures in the 70's ..., and had a few of them. If this wasn't True, Mattel's Re-Mego Retro Heroes would have been done in Brave and the Bold Style, because that's what's Hot right now, and Kid's Identify with it,... and there would have been no Exclusive Figure, with Adult Collecting in Mind.

Atleast the Super Powers version's cape was better. It captured the Essence of the character, and you could fold it out around the character.

I think there's a ton of Batman figures that are out there, that do not protray Batman as this Dark Entity, without taking away some of his Key Character Elements that Define the character.

    Well said

2 face looks the most like he would fit with the original mego - 2 SI suits sewn together!

i like AM and BM alot. The batman i thin is probably good but the have teh figure all cockeyed in teh pic. surely they could get a pic that promotes him better than that

I am very much looking forward to picking up all four of 'em, especially the Batman and Black Manta figures.

My least favorite figure in the wave is Two Face. I think the figure is brilliantly done. Just never that fond of the character. I would have personally much preferred the Joker, Riddler or Penguin before getting Two Face.

A cool Caped Crusader Batman is fine with me. I bet a painted cowl Batman comes later. Mattel likes to keep Supes and Bats on the pegs.

The accessories are a nice touch, and something Mego rarely gave us.

The pink cards...the nostalgia factor is awesome. But I've always lamented Batman being stuck with pink, so my feelings are mixed. I like the Dick Giordano Aquaman on the back. From the Sunbeam sticker set!!!

For Wave 1, I pre-ordered from some shop I found on Amazon. Price was a few bucks more than I wanted to pay.
That's not a dumb question at all. I preordered a set from Amok Time for $79.99 + Shipping (WGSH Series 2 Set of 4) and then a case from Entertainment Earth for $185 + shipping (DC Universe Retro-Action Wave 2 Case - Mattel - DC Comics - Action Figures at Entertainment Earth ) because they were the only preorders I could find at the time selling a sealed case. It's same way I ordered Wave 1 and it worked pretty well for me.
