Yeah but licenses are funny things. I think you can have two different companies authorized to make the same figure basically but one company only has the right to make it in a certain scale. So hasbro could make a "Farrah" in 9" but not in 12". Then again, those are two different figures really. Charlie's Angels was the actual license. I don't think they actually referred to her as Farrah on the box, just Jill. So Mego probably could've made an 8" Farrah if they wanted to?
So maybe if Mego planned a "Lee Majors" and "Lindsay Wagner" in their Celebrity line they would've gotten away with it?
Plus, I also read that Hasbro tried to get the rights to the Six Million Dollar Man & Bionic Woman but lost it to Kenner. Those would've been some interesting SMDM figures if they were based on the GI Joe body.

Licenses are really tricky, as are actors' contracts. Perhaps the ones that Majors and Wagner signed stated something like as long as they were on their respective TV shows, they couldn't license their own likenesses without the studio's permission. And then maybe the studio nixed their licensing plans with Mego so that Kenner wouldn't get upset? But on the other hand, such a provision may not have been in Fawcett's contract, so that she was free to license her own likeness to Mego while doing Charlie's Angels. Just one possible theory, I have no idea if this was the case. Or maybe the point is moot because Farrah was no longer on Charlie's Angels when her Mego doll came out, I'm not sure of the time line though.

BTW, the actresses' names are on Hasbro's Angels packaging along with their characters' names.

It was done for the Jacklyn Smith doll too,... while Hasbro promoted her as "Kelly" from Charlies Angels (same goes for Farrah as Jill),...Mego promoted her simply as the TV STAR she was (by the way,..Jaclyn was still in Charlies Angels when Mego also made her,..so no problem in having 2 different companies making the same actress, but with different names),...so the same would have happened for Linsday Wagner,..from Kenner as " Bionic Woman" and by Mego as TV Star L. Wagner.

Also,...Mego also did the same for their Kristy McNichol doll, in which Mattel promoted the same TV Star as "Buddy" from the TV show "FAMILY".

....one last note,..has anyone ever noticed that the head used for the Invisible Girl,..resemble the exact face mold of Heather Menzies as Jessica,..from the Mego Logans Run Mego line?

On the first page, next to the Sonny & Cher Inflatable Tent Set, it looks like it says "Dumb". That makes me laugh because it's something I would write if I really thought the item was dumb.
