Your lucky Rick, this Iron man was almost mine!!

The carded IM that Rick purchased from Mark is NOT the same carded Iron Man at the New York Comic Con in your video. I know I saw it up close in person. That card in the video was just a card NO BUBBLE. Actually, the bubble was cut and all that remained was the part where it was heat sealed on the card. As you can see the card Rick purchased was resealed, but has the bubble attached. I believe Mark had a total of 5 carded Iron Man's over time. The one he clings onto is pictured over at the other Mego site and was sold to him from Luey (Greg).

Counting Dan's and Bill's cards there are 7 known to exist of which I believe only 2 are factory sealed.

Yeah, Mark told me he had 5 Iron man's (and currently the best one in the world)
4 Green Goblin's (a few of them MOC and one actually got stolen from him)
2 Wonder Woman's both on card
      4 Aquaman with Shark playsets
      All the Kregse carded figures
All 5 Elastic Figures including the Denys Fisher Stretch Hulk (loose), plus a case and shipping box of the Elastic Spider-man
And sooooo much more, the list just goes on and on. The kid has a bottomless well of Mego.
It's just hard to come up with a list of what he doesn't have because I think he had it all at one time or another.
If you're a fan of old-school toys, toons and comics then my blog is the place for you!!!

But like I said before, I'm not a big Iron man fan and even though I like his Mego figure I never really wanted it. I usually get things for myself and my collection. I could have eventually sold it but I'm not really in the market to buy something and then turn around and sell it for more money. I get what I like and even if the price is crazy high, if I want it, I get it and I pass on everything even if it's a "grail" or extremely rare item. To each his own.

I waited about 25 years to get my "grail" piece from Mark a year or two before this Iron man incident and before I even knew who he was. I got his Mego Elastic Hulk from his own private collection. And this Elastic Hulk is widely regarded as the best example of this toy in the world (there are only 11 figures left and only 2 have never been restored of fixed up. And there are only 5 original boxes left with only mine being dead mint). Mark even said it was the best Elastic Hulk he has ever seen in 16 years (and we all know that Mark knows his Mego shyat).

The 11 Mego Elastic Incredible Hulks

This Elastic Hulk (as well as Mark's Elastic Spider-man and Plastic man) is fabulously pictured in an article on Mego with a nice Marty Abrams interview in Tomart's Action Figure Digest #60 (1999). Mark showcased a lot of his Mego stuff in that article. Anyone here have it? It's on EBay right now!!

Sorry for the rant, but I love when someone get's what they always wanted. That's what makes this hobby so much fun!!

Once again, congratulations Rick on your beautiful Iron man and Wonder Woman pieces, now rejoice and be Mego Merry!!!
Wow there are only 5 elastic hulks with their original box?? I have an elastic hulk with his original box...I knew they were rare but never knew THAT rare....mine has never been restored either...that's really cool info! Oh and these two amazing carded megos are why i stopped collecting them....I could never justify spending that kind of cash for a mego....but they are beautiful and must be awesome to own!
