Unlimited Funds VS Collecting

Ok, say you hit the lottery and now have unlimited funds for collecting. Does this mean you can have any Mego items you want or are some things close to impossible to acquire no matter how much money is involved?
A green Palitoy carded Cap might put this to the test.

Everything I would want Mego collecting wise, money can buy pretty easily.

Imagine the fun in hunting stuff down then. If you need to look for something outside your home country,just hop on your private jet and go.

Since I don't really care about carded figures I think I'd have no problem acquiring anything I wanted.

It pretty much does, yeah. Look at Rudy Zerbi... if he wanted something he went for it and he outbid whoever was winning at that point, no matter how much it cost. The downside however is when he sold off his collection he sold a lot of stuff at a big loss

I'd start up a toy company and start making my own!

Honestly, it might help me to buy a few sniggling things in my collection but I'd still have trouble with overpaying.

If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd become a full time toy dealer, buying collections and flipping them for a small margin, just to have fun.

With unlimited funds I would probably stop collecting. After all, where would the joy of the hunt be without the need to save and search?

I guess in theory I could pretty much get what ever I wanted now, but the hunt is what I like. I guess if I hit the lottery I would just travel more looking in places I don't get to look. Like the Nicolas Cage of toy hunting trying to find that hidden Mego treasure of a lifetime. I would probably collect more stuff and maybe start a place like the Krueger Museum to house it all. Somewhere that kids could come and see the stuff of yesteryear and maybe have a large meeting place that would make it possible for other collectors of other toy lines to do something as we do every June without needing to charge an outrageous amount of money to get it done. I would also start my own company and produce some figures just for giggles. Would be great to do some odd-ball stuff without the worry of having to make a profit.

Unlimited funds = complete boxed and complete carded collection. Then I could start on Kresges. But hitting the lottery means more traveling to shows in other states and seeing friends along the way. And I probably buy the comic shop in town. He's been wanting to sell for years now.

See my post about that. I mean if you want a Zorro or a Jet Jungle or something from Basa or Jousting Horse stuff from Germany,you'd be able to get it no matter what. That to me would be pretty thrilling right there.

I think your question, Tim, is whether there are certain mego items, that even with unlimited funds, would still be very hard to obtain.

If it is, I think there would still be some things that would indeed be hard, especially any one or two of a kind items. That said, if your funds were truly unlimited, it would be hard for any collector to turn down, say, a million dollars for any item. You may think you would never sell something in your collection, but imagine a million dollars in front of you and not giving up that one item.

But if you're asking what we do with unlimited funds, I would buy your collection. You have some really cool stuff and I know I like your taste in toys. AND it would save me a lot of trouble

buy all the pricey carded ones, take them to Mego meet and have you all watch as i give them to 7 & 8 year olds, to do as they please.
