    Heroes In Action: Abraham Lincoln

Toy Maker Heroes In Action sent us a sneak peak at the upcoming Abraham Lincoln figre from their ever expanding "Presidential Heroes" line.

While I'm sure history buffs are excited by this, I for one, can't wait to put him in my Star Trek display.

The line will also be getting new packaging in 2010 as shown above.

Oh man, that Lincoln sculpt is killer

All kidding aside, I would say that's the best Abe Lincoln sculpt i've ever seen.

Looks better than many real statues of him

Impressive work on that head sculpt. I can hear him now: "Help me, Kirk."

Even better than what I could've imagined. Top notch stuff.

I hope he comes with a hat, though. It's essential.

I think there should be a 'Fist Fighter' line as well. I'm sure distinquished presidents like to duke it out once in a while...

I was really sleepy when I was talking to Mark but I'm certain that he will.

Does anyone have any idea how many Prez's are planned for the series ?

                  Would love to see more

                  My next picks would be

                  Washington (of course)
                  Jefferson (Gotta have Jefferson)
Grant (must have a bruiser in the lot)
                  Teddy (that ole rough rider)

                  Also,
A few Presidents that are historic but are unpopular for making figures of.

                  Wilson (Prez during WW1)
                  FDR (Prez during WW2)

I got to see this up close last month and the sculpt is as good (if not better) in person as it is in the picture.

I am a HUGE Lincoln buff and I am geeking over that sculpt.
Mark showed me a painted sculpt at Toy Fair and I told him
that Lincoln was too good looking - especially by 1863 which
is the year the figure is based on.

Over my dresser is a photo of Lincoln in 1861 side by side with
the last photo taken of him on April 14, 1865. It looks like he
aged 30+ years while in office.

I give Mark a lot of credit for this line. I would love to make
historical megos, but I just don't see the sales potential.

I think the potential is there, as long as the consumer prices are kept as low as possible which could be done considering most historical characters have no royalty fees.

Would love to see a few military figures from various wars starting with the American Civil War.

Get these into gift shops at Museums and historical sites, you could sell a bunch I think.

                            For sure .....

A few years ago in Gettysburg (Wax Museum gift shop) I noticed they had all the 12" talking presidents ....

You would not believe how many people were playing with them AND BUYING THEM for the short time I was there... and they were like $19.99 apiece.

Historic gift shops is the ultimate selling place for figures like this.

The military action figure market has always been 12 inch. You can show more
                              detailing in that scale.

The knights line did not sell well for MEGO - Marty said at MegoCon that they
did knights, pirates, and western just to keep anyone else from getting into
                              the legendary character arena.
