Anyone else remember this:



Andy Fish scammed a lot of people with this banner...Me being one of them. Found this as I was going through all of my old posters and stuff. If anyone is interested message me here on the museum. If not...it will look pretty nice down at MegoMeet this year. BTW, it has grommets in all 4 corners of the banner.

That was Andy Fish? I bought the Batman one - just because I liked the look,
not because I thought it was really vintage. The Batman art was late golden
age - pre-1966.

Yep, boy that was a big event! Almost as big as the fake silk screen outfits by mr moore.
While we're hashing the good ole' days . . . . I wish some of these newer guys would appreciate what is going on here with the re-birth of the 8" format. Back in the Levy list days this was a pipedream at best! No figure or line will ever be perfect and I think we all agree that is one of the reasons we hold Mego so closely. Can't wait to pick-up the Universal Monsters and all the Retro Action Heros!

Just so everybody knows, that was another Mr. Moore doing the fake silkscreens. If it had been me, I'd have pulled it off. I almost bought one of those Fishy banners, but back then money was really tight and I opted to spend the money on Megos. I was probably saving for a custom PeiPei Flash suit or something.

I have Batman, Superman and I think Spidey. They were supposed to be Walgreens banners that were found in an old salesman's garage I recall taking them to a sign shop in San Francisco to get them evaluated. Was told they were impossible to make prior to 1988 or something like that. Ha-ha...He gave me some of my money back I think.

Too bad, because they were really cool and if he'd been honest about it he could have sold bunches.

May be fake, but it's darn cool. How much did you guys get taken for if you don't mind me asking.

Never fell for the banners (although they were cool), but the fake suits had me convinced for awhile.
Was it the same that said the first release Riddler had plastic boots, and that the early release Trek guys came with boots instead of molded feet? Set up a web-site and tried to sell some of these "rare" items too....Its been awhile...I may be mixing people together here?

speaking of the ol days, i did end up buying a custom peipei shazam cape which was pretty decent.

I would have loved those SS suits, he probably could have a got a job working with Mattel with those.
