I'm pretty sure the eyes have been changed also. They look a lot better than the original.

Thanks for posting these photos! It looks very good. The "s" curl is excellent! Can't wait to get it! Excellent Superman!
(And yes, removable cowel Batman too!)

I will admit that the paint application does change the look of the head.
Sometimes I am amazed at how a vintage head will look when I cast it
        sans the paint details.

Thanks for clearing that up. Interesting what the paint can do, especially when the skin is painted rather than rotocast. I don't think we saw photos as clear as this either.

This is true and the difference is sculpted eyes! The original sculpt just has painted on eyes and if you remove the paint, he just sort of looks like he's sleeping!

                Closed eyes

Andy is right - he should be since he made the changes to the
Superman head. The first four heroes had slits for eyes (like
a sleeping subject) it's sculpting in repose. I found this
out when I first made castings of Superman, Bruce Wayne,
                Dick Grayson, Shazam, and Aquaman.

Captain America was the first head to have oval shaped eyes.

Wave 1,2,3 etc. will be in Toys R Us and comic shops (thank you
Diamond) so everyone should be able to get these.
Yeah, I thought it was the Mego Superman sculpt "cooked" a little longer. I think it's wonderful!

This is the way I thought Mego Superman looked before I got it and all I had to see it was catalog pictures that really didn't show the face in detail.

Wow! Very good. Was a bit disapointed in how the prototype looked - this however looks great. It's amazing what subtle changes will do. Congrats!

I grew up watching the Super Friends, so to me, this is Superman.

I like it. I think the hair is a touch flat though.
I wouldn't say he looks too much like Superfriends Superman. The curl is corrected and SF Supes' curl was closer to the Mego.

                            Regardless, it looks great.

When did Supes ever wear black shorts?

No idea. I think possibly it bled over time and probably several scans and itterations. Any SF Supes pic shows the incorrect curl though which the Mego figure resembles more closely which was the point of posting the pic. lol.

(edited because I didn't check my spelling before posting. My keys are almost blank. Need a new keyboard becuase I am a hunt/peck typist)
