from me, and had praised me to his friend at Paramount.

Diamond was also leery of the perception of poor quality but they also
knew me by reputation. Mattel told me that my reputation and seeing
how well we did Khan, Sulu, etc. sealed my participation in the project.

I don't like to toot my own horn, but pretending that CTV started this
revival is just not true. If anything, they left a bad taste in everyone's
    mouth.
As I mentioned before CTVT's bodies were poor quality, I won't argue with you on that. EMCE's quality is a HUGE improvement over CTVT, I won't argue with you on that either.
But whether CTVT left a bad taste in everyone's mouth or not, they were the first to revive the 8" market, together with Castaway (or maybe Castaway was first, I'm not sure).
Granted, 2010 will be the year of the ZICA, EMCE, Biffbangpow, Mattel and Castaway, but like it or not CTVT preceeded them all

Doc Mego had the bodies out before CTVT. So how was CTVT first? If CTVT used the Doc Mego bodies they would have done way better. I'm not sure how often you talked to them, but I did all the time. They should have acted like they liked selling the cases and not acted like it put them out to even answer the phone. I was the only one in the greater northwest who was getting them. I had one person contact me about them. So I sold very little. Nobody wanted them, and nobody really tried to sell them.

I agree with ya...CTVT's doesn't count. Other than being a good source for Parts & accessories.

I can't wait until February to find out what's coming out this year. The thing I loved best about my megos as a child was that all of my figures were made the same and that all of the characters could interact with each other. Superman, Bo Duke and Spock could travel to the Planet of the Apes and then to the Emerald City. Thanks to Doc, EMCE, Castaway and Zica my nephew is going to be able to enjoy the same thing. He's having a blast with Spock and Green Arrow fighting Dr. Eville. I've been trying to buy at least 2 of every figure so that we both have a great collection!

I'm extremely glad I found the Trek EMCE figures a few months ago and then this great community of mego/8 inch figure fans. This has actually made toy collecting fun again.

Thanks to all and here's to 2010!!!!
