Since all of the non-toy collectors that have ever seen my collection have been musicians, the KISS Megos get the most attention. One guy went off on this long tangent about how "It figures that they'd make toys based on The Elder costumes" because he saw the 8" customs I was working on and they had short hair (even though the costumes were from Love Gun - which may say more about my costuming skills than his knowledge of the different eras of KISS).

The funniest thing I ever saw happen (and the reason that I no longer let non-collectors know about my collection) was about 10 years ago, the guitarist from a particularly cool band saw my original KISS Megos, took down Ace and started acting out the guitar solo from "Shock Me" complete with knee bends. As any of you probably know, you don't want to mess around much with the knee joints on 12" Megos. The whole time I was quietly freaking out, but didn't want to come across as not being cool (particularly since I was a fan and already felt amazingly uncool working with this guy). Fortunately, Ace held up to the rigors of the solo and it was worth going through the fear of a broken Mego just to get to see a guy who ALWAYS comes off as cool act like a little kid playing with a toy.
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

I would have to go with the Mattel Godzilla as well. Most of the people I know don't give a crap about my collection or toys in general, but the Big G has gotten the most reaction. Seems everybody either had or remembers him well.

That's a good story. I don't dare bend the knees of any of my 12" Megos' knees that are still intact, so I'd be freaking out to. But both of the knees on my Ace blew out many years ago, so his days of intense soloing are over.

                      Hmmmm....

Supercity gets a lot of looks. (Especially since it fills up the living room.) Ginger gets a lot of comments too. (Although I have a custom in the works that'll probably win the #1 position.)

I have a SSP Smash-up Derby and Rock em Sock em Robots that get the most "I remember that." But everyone I know thinks I'm weird for collecting anything. I'm surrounded by people who like to throw things away. lol.

My friends and family roll their eyes and get annoyed when I shreek when they flex joints too hard or grab one of my collection. Most know now not to touch

I've never had the luxury of having enough room to keep any of my stuff out on display for long. As such I keep it mostly boxed up. I have my old Johnny West and Thunderbolt on display a lot, so I guess he gets the most comments. Usually, I get a sort of "you collect toys..how pathetic" look followed by the inevitable "I'll bet thats worth a fortune now?" Statement. I have at times responded with "Yes it is so get your grubby meathooks off of it!!"....Probably why I dont get many house guests?

Almost every non collector who has been to the man cave thinks I am nuts......which is fine until they talk to me like "why would a grown man do this!"
                                Ignorance is bliss......
