Help with Type0 Batman

I would say he's worth the $20. I'd be blown away if anyone were ever able to prove that a Type 0, molded cowl Batman was produced, but you never know with Mego (Aquaman on a Superman card with blue Batgloves was quite a surprise...the first time I saw one). Either way, I think just for the Type 0 body alone is a nice piece. As for the Green Arrow hat, yeah, I'd have paid $8 for an original even with the broken feather. And the original Thor Helmet with the 'Brain Spike' is a real find!

Bats
J Scott, can you tell what type of neck plug the Batman head has ? You'd probably have to pop the head off the T0 body to find out, but that might answer a lot of questions. If it has a Type 2 (short) neck plug, then it can't be an original T0 Batman, as those would have the longer neck plugs.Comment

T0
But if the neck plug indicates a Type 2 head, it was intended for a more muscular T2 body, and I can't see the factory putting it on a T0 or a T1 body. So a T2 head would pretty much eliminate any factory involvement, I would think. If it's a T1 head, it *may* have been done at the factory, but I'd still bet this is a case of someone sticking a stray Batman head on an Action Jackson body, and dressing him in a Tin Man bodysuit.Comment

There's still always a chance it was done at the factory (Aquaman was never intended to have blue gloves or to be mounted on a Superman card, but they did that at the factory), but you're right - the T2 head was definitely not intended for the T1 or T0 body, so that would really point towards a head swap.

I'll go take the head off and check. But, regardless, even if it were done at the factory, the fact that it is no longer in a sealed package makes it on the same level as if it were a head swap. I mean, if there is no indicator as to whether or not it was factory done or a head swap, it seems to me that I must assume it is not a genuine molded Batman head on a T0 body.Comment

Or a nice T1 Aquaman. I hit one on ebay in a lot all by itself about two years ago. Only Mego figure in the bunch and never noticed it until I got it in. Up until then I never knew the first four could be found on T0 bodies. It's not a doll it's an action figure.Comment
