So, I'm looking at recent versions of Mego Spock, specifically the one with the 25th anniversary logo on the back of the card. I love the black-and-silver accessories, I love the plastic emblem, but...why is his collar blue instead of black? I just checked out the Kirk in the same packaging, and his collar is black.

It’s also the single gold band rank insignia for a Lieutenant. This was his uniform for The Cage.Comment

Maybe back to the second pilot where no man has gone before then. Same shirt as the cage but it has the later haircut and equipment.Comment

Or maybe, Mego Corp. is making a compromise to get a variant to market.
They did something similar years ago with boxed set containing a gold shirt from the first pilot.Last edited by PNGwynne; Jun 22, '25, 7:48 PM.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

I'd be very surprised if Mego made a new head sculpt and new weapon sculpts for a specific one episode release.
Did they make a Captain Pike from "The Cage"? If so, did he have the TOS style phaser or the one from "The Cage"? I know the EMCE/Diamond Select one had the standard blue Mego phaser and communicator.ScottComment

Now that I hadn't thought of. A possibility. And that episode has Kirk. Of course, the corresponding Kirk figure has the black collar.Maybe back to the second pilot where no man has gone before then. Same shirt as the cage but it has the later haircut and equipment.Comment
