The thought of having "Marvel" scaled Biotron and Baron Karza to supplement the original and reissue Microman/Micronauts toys for 20 bucks American makes me quite happy.
These won't replace the original Biotron or Baron Karza toys. I can't imagine that they are meant to. For what they are, they look really neat.
Here's hoping they are sturdier than Palisades's attempt at new Micros. If they are as well-made as Mego and Takara's Micronauts/Microman, I will buy at least one of each figure.Leave a comment:

I didn’t have a lot of Micronauts so I was kind of indifferent about the announcement, but I did have Biotron and I like how the figure looks so I’ll probably pick that up if I see it.Leave a comment:

I'll probably break down and get the Reaction Silverhawks. I don't judge.Leave a comment:

If I see them on a store shelf and have the money I will probably pick them up.
I have no sentimental feelings for the Micronauts, did not read the comic books or collected the originals. I have since read the comic books( thanks to 25 cents bins) and liked them for what they are.Leave a comment:

I'll stick to vintage Microman, Micro Change, Micronauts, and Henshin Cyborg, with the occasional reissue for good measure, unless they give us something that really WOWs me. I have a REAL Baron Karza. He'd curb stomp this turd.Leave a comment:

^Bingo. And I haven't been able to afford replacing my beloved childhood Karza.
I bought S7 Shogun Mazinga and Godzilla for the same reasons.Leave a comment:

I'm just curious who the intended audience is for these.
If they are trying to win new fans over to the Micronauts, I doubt that will happen. There's nothing new or exciting about a nearly 50 year old toyline.
And if they're trying to court old fans, then they have misjudged what they enjoy. They'd much prefer a reissue line than some wild reimagining.
These will appel to a few, however, and I wish them success, as I'd like to see what the future holds, but these initial offerings are more miss than hit for me.
The action figure market caters to adult collectors. That is Super 7's demo in particular. I can easily see them being successful with that crowd. These figures come beautifully packaged. They feature a legendary toy franchise (even if people didn't grow up with the toyline, they have heard about and know its place in toy history). They are a collector-friendly size where you don't have to dedicate a whole wing of the house to display and store them. And finally, they are just fun and cool looking.
Rather than being annoyed by what these figures are not, I think a lot of collectors will appreciate them for what they are.Leave a comment:

I don't think i would be interested in S7's O ring offerings, I feel they would be like the "venom vs valor" line of joes. Maybe if they do Karza or Argonaut in their 7 inch line but they don't need to be at a premium price point as the quality isn't truly above anything Hasbro or Todd does for their 6 to 7 inch figures.Leave a comment:
