I was really hoping for more Avengers or maybe X-Men, so this announcement left me kind of underwhelmed. But getting 4 completely new figures still seems like a treat, especially since Mego lost the DC license (I'm still not over that!). Looks like there won't be any distribution Issues and I hope the new set will be up on Disney's EU site in the not too distant future.

I opened my set today. I wasn’t thrilled when I saw this set, but despite some warts, it much nicer in-hand.

I think Rhino is the star of the set. Excellent head sculpt, wonder mattering the costume.

Spider-Man’s suit is better fitting than the promo photos. It sure the spider on the suit will hold up, but it’s a spiffy figure.

Mysterio is well done. He has the best quality Mego cape made thus far. The suit is nice, the wrist gauntlets are perfect, and the boots are great. The head though? Eh. A translucent or pearl look would have been great, even the comic lines drawn on would have worked for me. But it looks like a dirty white ball, or something that will be reused for The Orb.

Doc Ock is the weak link for me. The body is just weird looking with the costume. The boots are ill fitting too. It was the last one I opened and I was rushing to leave, so I need to take a better look. But right now, if he makes the shelf, he’s in the back.

Got my sets a few days ago, but just got to open them.
Mysterio is the star of the set, for me, followed by Rhino.
Not thrilled by black costume Spidey, but it’s acceptable.
Ock looks wonky on the fat body; always pictured him as stocky, not obese.

just got my set and--this is weird--Doctor Octopus doesn't have his orange collar. Like, at all. It didn't fall off into the box, the collar just isn't there. Anyone else have this rare variant? LOL

Hmmm…I guess you did get an “error” variant.

I really like my set. All four look great and very MEGOey to me. I normally don't take them out of the box so I'm going to have to buy an extra Mysterio somewhere because I want to see him out of the box. If anyone buys a set for the same purpose/different figure let me know please.

Well, Doc Ock has appeared in that costume but without the orange collar before--like in Daredevil #165, one of my favorite of his appearances. Also, looking at the pics Mego provided of the set, I thought his collar was too big and too loose looking anyway, so this works for me.

Got my set a couple of days ago and opened them up right away.

These are fantastic! The 10 year old me is thrilled to have them. Present me questions the inclusion of black suit Spidey due to a desire to get characters that would have been made back in the day. But I understand why he is there.

Rhino: Great head scuplt and wonderful figure. He's my favorite in the set. Finally Hulk and Thing have someone the same size to battle. Bring on Abomination Mego!

Doctor Octopus: This guy screams original Mego to me. They absolutely would have made him on the Penguin body. Strong head scuplt. The bendable wires really make this guy fun to pose.

Mysterio: Another well executed figure. Not sure the gauntlets would have been made back in the 70's, but they look great. Kinda wish the ping pong ball head wasn't straight white, but I think this is what Mego might have done in their heyday.

Black suit Spidey: He feels out of place for us older Mego fans. But he's fine. I love Spider-man and he's a welcome edition to my collection.

I just want to add that all of the costumes are excellent! Well done to all who were involved in creating this set and I'm looking forward to the next one. Hopefully we can finally get a Doctor Doom. That would fulfill a life long dream.
