That would excite me more than the Micronauts

So, did Marty sell the Micronauts to Hasbro or is he just licensing them? The article makes it sound like Hasbro now owns the property.

Pretty sure Marvel gave up the Micronauts. Dreamwave (the guys currently doing GI Joe and Transformers comics) had a new Micronauts comic out a few years back.

I would dearly love comic book versions of the Micros though. I was soooo hoping to see them as a kid. Micronauts were played with more than any other toy in my house. I have every issue of the comics including the specials and New Voyages.

Hoping to see some retro love from Hasbro, not new stuff.

My boys are all over this. lol

Marvel owns the rights to the characters they created like Mari, Bug and Rann.

Yep. Huntarr, Cilcia, Major D'ark, Argon, Slug.... I can't imagine having Acroyer without Bug though. Hoping they get this sorted ot and can make the classic lineup. Not holding out hope though. lol.

I think a lot of people think this is going to be straight reissues, I'm willing to bet that current Takara Microman toys will be used and it will be strongly marketed to kids.

I'm going to love seeing commercials.

No offense to us collectors, but I'd love to see a retro line aimed at kids- commercials, comics, the whole new multi-platform approach.

                      I'm with you on this.

I wonder if we will see comic packs in the same way we saw GI Joe and Secret Wars?

I think this is some great news!

I agree, Hasbro may tip its hat to collectors in some way, but for the most part this will be an all new line up using current MicroMan stuff. Thats ok with me! Since they are talking movie, I'm betting an animated series is in the works too! Speculating of course, but it seems a no brainer these days, and Hasbro has the clout to get it done.

Wonder who will do it and when the Clownarounds line will return? With a Smurf movie and merchandise juggernaut due next year, this may not be as goofy and farfetched as it sounds!? On the other hand, with Matty and Hasbro picking up all of Mego's lines....what is the new Mego planning on producing (besides the pet rock thing)?

I agree it will be marketed towards kids. It will be a toy line as opposed to a collector one. I still do hope and feel these will be all new figures based on the Mego released Micronauts though. Otherwise why go to all the trouble and expense to get the rights to the Micronauts name and characters when it would just be cheaper and faster to release Microman figures as Microman? Takara already had officially released Microman figures in the US just a few years ago.

I could see Hasbro doing something along the lines of SOTA's planned Micronauts Evolution except in 3 3/4 inch scale. The Mego names and characters but with updated sculpts.

                            That's my guess anyways.

retro? hmm perhaps but i can only see re-imagine versions for the up coming film. which is alright with me.

Works for me. I would dearly love to see comic book versions and old faves like Galactic Defender and Repto but if they do only new stuff, then I'm out of it but my boys will get their OWN Micros. These were not neccesarily my favorite toys as a kid but they got played with more than any others between me, my cousin and my 2 best friends. I've shown the ones I have left to my boys and they absolutely LOVE them. My youngest is a Lego junkie and the fact that you can pull the Mivronaut toys apart and rearrange them is just his kind of thing. He was off his nut when I let him play with my Star Defender. They used their Teen Titans figures in the Micronaut vehicles they made. My oldest thinks Force COmmander is the coolest thing ever.
