Spotlight on the EMCE/Mattel Green Arrow

We've created the first of many gallery pages for the EMCE/Mattel "World's Greatest Superheroes" line. It seemed fitting to start with the first figure that will be available Green Arrow. Click here to see large photos of the prototype. Images courtesy of Mark Huckabone.

Watch for new Gallery pages all this week.

One of my favorite things about the original GA was the innovative gloves they gave him (instead of ovwen mitts). I actually like the upgrade here, but I'm unsure of the color. I hope the final version is a bit more green.

Ah, who am I kidding, I'm just psyched to see this guy getting produced again. Where do I sign up?

Love the figure, but the boxing arrow in the bow, does noting for me. I'd rather it be a empty bow.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

The boxing glove arrow does have that silver age feel to it though. But not a game-stopper for me either way - I would buy the figure with or without it.

I think he looks GREAT as is..! Love the boxing-arrow bow and the sleeves (well, perhaps a tad more green..).

I'll have to see if Dr. Mego is in my PPO. Then I only have $10 Co-Pays on needed accessories.

I'd bet it was a tough choice to put the arm bands over the fleshtone sleeves. Just out of my own morbid curiosity, I wonder what tighter/thinner vinyl armbands would look like on the bare arms.

Only a curiosity, not a suggestion.

All in all, I really dig it. It's the original with modifications any one of us would want. I'm dying to see what Mattel does to them. I think everyone has these Protos in their heads as the finished product, well at least I did. I'm cheesin' to see what the vinyl head version looks like. All of it for that matter.

So, instead of the boxing glove bow, just go ahead and make a real quiver filled with 9 or 10 different Green Arrows...Awww, that would rule!!

                        OK, impractical.

                        But still fun.

                          Man, these things are beautiful.

Somebody enlighten me on the Matty Collector thing though, does this mean the figure will be available for about 20 bandwidth clogged minutes on the Mattel site before it's sold out?

And if I understand correctly, the other figures are going to be sold ONLY at Toys R Us?

How hard do you think these badboys will be to get? (I already have that bad "chasing the wind" collector feeling)
