The Mego World's Greatest Superheroes are Back!

At the "Mattel and DC Comics: A Heroic Partnership" Panel at this year's San Diego Comic Con the big announcement was the return of the 8" Superhero format!

It's the one Mego fans have been waiting for and something Dr.Mego (AKA Paul Clarke) and Joe Sena of EMCE toys have toiled on for ages.

It's a bright and sunny day in Megoland, for soon the heroes will return to toy store shelves before Easter 2010.

    Wave One Includes:

    Green Arrow
    Hal Jordan GL
    Superman
    Lex Luthor
    Sinestro
    John Stewart GL

This is huge for our format. We are excited to see Doc Mego bringing back some classic and new figures. This is a watershed moment for our format ladies and gentlemen and I am extremely excited (slightly jealous... ah shoot who am I kidding GREEN WITH ENVY!) and want to say Congrats Paul! Bravo dude and KUDOS to you sir...

        Fantastic News !!!!!!!!!

I'm a bit surprised Batman isn't in wave one because of his huge popularity and big potential for really selling the line to the masses.

        Congrats guys !!!!!!!!!

        This is big

This is really cool, but I am hoping they stick with the "mego-esque" look for the figures mego never (allegedly) produced like Green Lantern (Hal & Jon), Sinestro, Flash, etc.

Me too, but then when you consider that GL is the next DC movie in the pipeline, the decision makes a bit more sense.

So, this must mean Batman and Joker are sure things for wave 2.

Okay, mixed feelings gone. Now, I'm just pumped. Bring 'em on. I guess I'll have to switch back to more Marvel customs, for now.

WOW! looks like they're trying to maintain the Megoesque essence and pick up where Mego left off which is good!

I think that's where the famous Covers and the Origins figures failed.

These are just what I had hoped. Mego-feel, but NOT straight reproductions. Perfect way to go to keep EVERYONE happy.

I'd agree, I felt compelled to pick the odd one up but never ever considered displaying the two alongside each other. These? That's a different story.

The Famous Covers just plain made me mad when I first seen them.

                            I remember thinking --- who would want these ? -- they're ugly
