I just have to say again that I want all of these. I am already making a list in my head of future figures I hope to see which is very premature, but I am so excited. I loved the show and still do (I'm actually watching it now..."Mark of the Saurian" episode). There are so many possibilities for future figures that I am practically bouncing off the walls here. I am very optimistic about this line because I think it is such a great idea. I can't wait for these to come out. Then I can stop using my Launcelot as Buck Rogers when my Megos come out to play.
Thanks in advance, Zica, for making a Mego dream come true!
Yeah, thats the Buster Crabbe version I meant..General..not colonel..I accidentally demoted him. To me, that was one of the best episodes of the series.
Personally, I would be more than happy to even have an 8" older Buster Crabbe as the TV style "Brigadier Gordon", as I'm sure several others here would be.
Yes, he was in the show but obviously much older and with a mustache which means the head sculpt wouldn't work for him as the classic version of Buck Rogers. Trust me, I'm looking at several possibilities for characters to make from the TV series and his appearance is one I've definitely taken notice of.
Unless your license dictates otherwise, I think it would be cool to see some figures based on the original comic strip. I know Go Hero has the 12" Buck, but he's too pricey for a lot of folks.
A Colonel Gordon/Buster Crabbe figure would be great too.
I'm sure you've got lots to worry about with the first line as it is to be bothering about whats next, but its fun to go what if anyways!
The license I have only covers the TV show but that's not to say that 8" scale figures based on the comic strip aren't a possibility.

If you wanna try picking up a few bucks on the side ... as long as these are sculpted in 12" scale from the start, make some casts of them before they're reduced to 8".
Some 12" Mego Buck customizers might love to get their hands on some casts at 12" scale.
Perhaps make a deal with a Museum caster/seller to do the dirty work including casting and selling.
You just sit back and collect your commissions.
How about Ardala's father, Emperor Draco? Yeah, we only caught a glimpse of him in the movie, but Mego did make figures, so he's gotta be on the short list!
AGREED about the boyfriend, but I would have a Laurie for my custom Michael Myers! Ha ha ha! I hear ya man, you got your characters down. I got to watch the complete series last year and that was the first time in YEARS that I got to watch em. I need to get that set.
I would LOVE to see those choices, SID HAIG! Anyone for a Captain Spaulding Mego? Ha ha ha...............
i'm trying to think of other characters from the show- and the only one i can think of that would be interesting is kryton the robot from the second series. i'll have to rewatch the dvd series. i dont think people would be interested in a dr. huer type figure. can anyone else think of possible figures? hawks wife? maybe buck dressed in ceremonial outfit?
At least once in this thread someone's gone (Woot! Dr Huer!) so...
Chrichton doesn't do much for me... he'd be nearly as much tool cost as Twiki and I don't think he'd have the same impact. Dr Goodfellow had a lot more screen time - but he'd be an odd choice *(Now with dodgy old man action!).
I do think Hawk's Wife, Koori, would be kind of cool... Also I really loved Sid Haig's outfit as Pratt, Julie Newmar's henchmen... It's 70'stastic. Sid also made an appearance in the very next two episodes as a completely different person with no make up or facial appliances.
Jack Palance would be a distinctive sculpt, but I don't know how much pizazz his crazy desert preacher guy (Kaleel) displays at the register.
I agree Frank Gorshin's Character Seton Kellogg might be interesting too, along with his Legion of Death. Or the red skinned aliens from the mardi gras episode... A Dream of Jennifer (had to look it up) - the leader guy was named Reev. There are a lot of wacked out costumes but the problem is most of the characters were only in one or two episodes.
I have to say my short list (beyond those already slated for wave 2) would be:
Koori - (Hawk's Wife)
Pratt - (Sid Haig in the crazy black and red vinyl)
Maybe Pantherman - (the lesser known alternate to Tigerman)
Vorvon - Space Vampire (The M113 Salt Creature Figure of the Buck Roger's universe)
Second String list:
Arom Duvoe (Mark Lenard) - the alien ambassador with the removable head.
Dimitir - funky Mask luchador looking guy from the last episode.
Marsden - Security Directorate Agent from Season one... think Logan's Run
Lieutenant Rekoff - Earth Defense Directorate guy and an excuse for another pilot uniform.
R-4 mutant - pretty generic cavemen dudes from the Journey to Oasis episode Mark Lenard is in.
Roderick Zale - (Ray Walston) the guy who kidnapped Gary Coleman. Only really useful for My Favorite Martian customs.
Any of the Star Wars Cantina Attempt themed aliens from the spaceport in Time of the Hawk.
End note - If anyone is hard-core plugging for a Jamie Lee Curtis, I have to say the boyfriend/badguy and the android/badguy were both pretty lame. Sergio Sanwiler (Bert Rosario) the sleazy info broker woud be a much more fun companion character.
