Yeah, thanks Charlie. I was also curious how the cases compared.

I purchased a few Oscar cases to compare and here is what I have found.

      1. The sliding doors on the bottom of the Oscar cases slide open way too easily, so easy sometimes they slide completely out when handling the case.

      2. The "rails" that hold the carded figures in the Oscar cases are not smoothed or beveled. So if you have a card that isn't perfectly flat they can scrape the edges of the card when sliding the carded figure in the case. This can also happen with the CGA ones but only if you have a card that is severely warped.

I think Oscar's customer service is a little better than AFA's. AFA's CS isn't terrible but it's not as good as it was when Ron Wallace/Cloud City was selling the cases. The case sales switched over to AFA after Cloud City was sold to Brian's Toys.

Oscars cases are quite a bit cheaper and his shipping prices are MUCH MORE REASONABLE than AFA's. Shipping prices can be down right ridiculous from AFA and they have a cheaper shipping price on eBay than they do in the store, so if ordering a large quantity make sure you ask for a credit for the difference between the eBay shipping price and the CGA website shipping price
Thats a Fantastic comparison. I'm glad that you posted it. I've been using Oscars cases for awhile now. It's good information to know

I did some measuring, the height of the Vader/Chewie boxes are about the same as the Ledy box. The Ledy box is smaller in depth and width though, but at least it should fit inside the case, just not snugly. I wish I had a 6MDM box to compare with, but I don't. But maybe I should pick a case up because those particular Ledy boxes are pretty fragile, that's why so very few (if any) actually exist in top condition.

IMO there is no comparison. An Oscar case will protect your piece from physical harm, but for display the CGA cases are far superior in terms of sleekness and clarity. Charlie, do we get any commission for this?

Yes, I cannot believe how clear the AFA cases are and they just seem to enhance the beauty and rich colors of the cards.

But yes, it took a loooong time for my order of 5 MEGO 8" cases and one 12" Kenner case to come in. AFA said that the new Trek movie was causing a boost in sales of the MEGO cases.....hmmm....maybe but I was skeptical. Either way, it was worth the wait.

very interesting...I have a few of the cga cases (tom derby is a buddy of mine)....but, next to each other, I see no significant visible diff (could just be I have bad eyes)...
now, cga's cases do look more "polished", but for 35% cost savings, I have to ring for oscar... but, opinions, like milage, vary

You can always get the zolocase for your MIB figures. It allows you to either display them on a wall or put them in a dispay case as these have feet. The case fits carded WGSH or Boxed WGSH as it sports a 9.5 inch high bubble. Check them out. the link is in my sig.
