I think the odd thing is that they just didn't give him anyone to interact with (i.e Ken has Barbie, Big Jim had the rest of the PACK, etc)

Go ahead, but be warned - you are looking at a collection that took 6 years to complete.
If you are serious, I will be putting up on Ebay in the next month or so all of my seconds and parts and pieces. You should be able to snag at least 5 to 7 complete or nearly complete outfits in the line. The rest, as they say, just validated the thrill of the hunt.
Not as bad as my Goalgetter collection - 9 years in the making and I need one more outfit to be done. Trouble is, there are only 10 outfits.

I get the feeling they were trying to make something with crossover appeal for both boys and girls. Honestly, if I'd been able to get some of those outfits on an Atomic Man I would've been darn excited. Lee Majors was voted best dressed man on television during the height of the SMDM days and he'd have worn that stuff.

These outfits do fit Gijoe and Atomic Man. They are actually harder to put on the Namath figure with it's strange articicuation than Gijoe.

Anybody notice that most of the Namath catalog figures are on Fighting Yank bodies? I also can't help the feeling that I am getting a Gijoe Intruder vibe from the catalog pics. I guess it's the way the head is jutting forward(Furward).

Wow, I may have to go ahead with this. I have an Atomic Man, but he's very much MOC and I think I'd end up being flogged if I took him out. Now there's a repro I'd like to see. I'd like to get one in damaged card or in loose mint shape, but I dunno if/when that's gonna happen. Meanwhile, I'm definitely gonna be keeping an eye on those parts auctions.
