I used to call a bunch of the Ad places for sales of Toys,.. Before I started Working,.. About 89 - 92. Whenever I would get money for Bdays... & Xmas's... I would save the Ad's I saw, Most were in Comicbooks,.. & I believe Wizard use to have a Few too,.. untill I got my money. Sadly everything I was ever interested in , was always sold before I got a chance to Purchase them. Thank god for the Internet.

The sick feeling in my gut that I get when looking at these ads now, ugh......I scoured the pages of ToyShop and other collector mags constantly and would make lists of the toys I wanted to order from these dudes. And I wound up not getting 99% of them, because I wasted so much money on "new" toys that I stupidly thought I would someday be able to sell or trade for other toys. Thankfully I did have enough sense to jump on a few good deals on the old Megos and stuff. I actually ordered that Falcon in mailer box from Heroes Unlimited, still got it too And I ordered my carded Human Torck from Huckabone all those many years ago, and I recall placing the order via phone with his mom as well!

I recall that those old "auction" ads in ToyShop used to really confuse me. Obviously I understand them now but at the time I didn't really get how they worked exactly, so I passed up alot of potentially cool deals.

The majority of these ads in these mags are for things like McFarlane Spawn, Playmates Trek and Wildcats figures, stuff you find for $5 now but was so "HOT" back in the day.

The most depressing thing about these is, I decided then that Megos were too expensive for me at the time, and I should concentrate on the modern lines. Of course I was in high school at the time. But I kick myself for the tubs of Batman Returns and Total Justice that I have and will never be able to unload. I could have had some nice Megos, cheap by today's prices!!!

i think the 1989 batman movie figures might came back in price alittle but, in retrospect spenting $15-20 for a loose spidey or hulk would of been a much better investment than $6-10 each for total justice or spawn figures.
