Some Early 90s Mego sales ads

Justzeg's thread had me poking around old magazines looking for vintage ads, here's one from 1991:

I've got more but need to find my stash. What a difference photoshop made eh?

When this catalog posing as a magazine got published I remember thinking these prices were INSANE! They were really high and some folks tell me that a lot of toy dealers used it as a price guide, making the early 90s hard to find bargains.

Keep in mind, I paid $250 for mine nine years after this list on Ebay. Turned down a boxed one for $250 in 1995 as well. It was CRAZY over priced.

The Comic Action Heroes stuff seem priced about what they would go for today.

Those ads are just fantastic. They make my heart beat even faster than normal. I wish I could have scored some of these beauties at those prices

I remember ooohing and aaahaing at all of Mark Huckabone's ads in Tomarts Digest and Toy Shop.
I got a lot of my vintage SW 3 3/4"collection MOC from him as well as a MIB Dewback, that I opened all, in the early 90's and I got a nice Mego Batman fom him as well.
                        He was a good guy.
Buying was more personal back then, I rememeber having to call him on the phone to place an order and a lot of times his mom would answer and take orders. After that I woudhave to send a check or a MO.

Neat to see. The world of advertising sure has changed in the last 15 years.
                            It's all good!
