Most people here will buy a copy of the issue anyway - either through
subscription or at their comic shops just to be able to read it without
the stains on the copy (sorry about that - living with a mental 7 year
old dad is tough sometimes - just ask my daughter Gwen)

But I see your point - so now that everyone has had a chance to
see it, I will edit the original post to omit some of the pages.

Should I take down the framed, printed, copies I made from the scans that are on my wall?
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

This article got me so EXCITED! Possible NEW DC Megos?! That would be a DREAM come TRUE! To finally own a MOC Mego Supergirl! AHHHHH! Anyway, thanks for posting the article, Paul, I hope you get (or already have gotten!) the DC license! Star Wars would be great, too! *If Diamond Select Toys can make Ultimate Quarter Scale 18" Star Wars figures, why can't EMCE work with DST on Mego 8" Star Wars figures?! Also, glad Marty got Mego name back! I can't wait to see what you have to show at SDCC!

Publishing world aside....Um....SOME of us live in Mexico. Well me for instance where finding an issue of Toyfare is like....Well I don΄t know. I just know it cannot be done. And getting mail here? Forget about it....

So...With that said...Can someone please post where it says that the new Mego has acquired the DC license?

              Keeping fingers crossed!!!!

As a longtime DC fan (I turn 50 this summer), I would LOVE to see emce/mego acquire the DC license!! (My credit card would explode!)

You and me both. I'd like to see an updated version of Catwoman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Black Canary, Power Girl, Zatanna, Wonder Woman, Cheetah, Circe, and all of the ladies that are in the DC universe.

I can foresee getting myself quite a few goodies for a future Christmas or birthday.

It doesn't say anything in the article about EMCE Toys getting a DC license
or a Marvel license, but some people want it to be there so bad
that they are projecting their desire onto the article.

When I can speak, I will. Until then - in the words of Sgt. Schultz -

I have two questions Paul... When Mego does emerge (sometime this year I assume) will "product" come back to stores on a wide scale basis (TRU, Target , Walmart, etc.) or will it simply take over where EMCE has been with special orders and limited shelf exposure at comicbook stores? Just curious how big of a bang Mego will want to make coming back from the ashes. My second question is part question, part request. Can you ask Marty if we can have the commercials revived as well? Those commercials played such a big role when I was kid in wanting them. I think that tradition should be restored as well. Jeez! Can you imagine how much product can spin from this? He could sell the figures in addition to DVD's of their commercials! Boy, am I pumped!!!!

I want to chime in and ask Paul to address this if it is relevant. If Mego returns, it won't be them "putting" product into Target, et al, it will be whether or not Target etc want to offer the stuff. Right?

Regarding commercials, etc, I would hope that Mego would launch a LARGE website and have links to Old Commercials, new commercials, maybe "inside the factory" or something, some behind the scenes footage of Megos being made, interviews etc. And of course as many of the commercials they can put on TV etc would be great. But they can and should put everything they can on their website.

For example, with my LIMITED ability and equipment, I'm trying to take interesting photos of my Megos. If I had better cameras and lighting I'd do better, I have plans, but Mego could sponsor a Photo and/or Video contest and post pix and video clips of Megos in action/on display etc. And maybe they could have some exclusive figure as a prize for the winner of the week?

Many thoughts. I'm available for consulting...

                        ToyFare Cover

The Toyfare issue looks like this, I bought it after Paul posted it, so there is a confirmed sale because of the post.

That is my Thelin with my first "custom" attempt. Although I've redone it, I first replaced that Tricorder strap ca. 1977.

Thanks again to Jessica for helping me figure out about posting pix.

So i didn't read that you bought the license to "One Day at a Time" and you and Marty Abrams will be personally delivering the figures to me in Evel Knievel's rocket car?

THANKS A LOT BRIAN - I tell you something cool in strict confidence and you
go blabbing it to everyone as soon as you get home!

We haven't gotten Valerie Bertinelli to sign off yet, so now the whole project
                              is in jeopardy!

If One Day at a Time (or ODAAT as I have been calling it) never makes it
to Target, you can all thank Palitoy for wrecking the deal.

About the commericals - Marty said that John Stern owned all the masters
of the Mego commericals. I tried to google that name and spent the day
reading about Howard Stern and watching YouTube videos.
