Which individual Megos did you own as a kid ?

I distinctly remember back in '74, looking at the Montgomery Wards comic art, pining for a Joker and Riddler.., wondering how to convince my parents to have them buy 'em for me..

But watching the POTA television series, I could not for the life of me decide whether to collect some of the POTA line or stick with the super villains.

My mom didn't spend much on me (and being divorced, my Dad didn't have any money at that time either..), hence my subtitle.. 'never had enough toys'.

Luckily a few years later, I gained friends who had the bulk of Trek and WGSH figures, but I liked spending a lot of time by myself, so I wish I had 'em.

My first was Shazam, followed by Superman. I owned several of these two over the years. I didn't even know any otheres existed, untill my next door neighbor got a BATMAN AND ROBIN SET. Then I met anothe kid down the block and he had every Mego ever made, that was the first time I ever saw or heard of spiderman. (third grade) I started buying comic books after that and a WHOLE NEW SUPER HERO WORLD WAS OPENED UP TO ME. i MOSTELY COLLECTED SPIDERMAN, AND CONAN.

I remember seeing Ironman for the first time, I thought he was weird looking, but the kid would never let me play with it, he was afraID THE BUTTON WOULD FALL OFF. LOL A group of about four or five of us would get together and play with them on the jungle gym swingset....oh the story lines we made up....sigh.

Pocket Heroes/CAH: Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Penguin, Joker, Green Goblin, Spiderman and that Batmobile set with Batman and Robin x 2.

Dukes of Hazzard: Bo, Luke, Coy, Vance and the General Lee set with 3 3/4 Bo and Luke.

CHiPs: Ponch, Jon and both 8" and 3 3/4" along with their motorcycles.

STMP: one or two of the 3 3/4" figures.

That's all that I can think of at the moment.

Regarding WGSH: I was born in 1974 and didn't see a lot of the figures (and I have some clear memories going back to and prior to 1977). I remember wondering if more were manufactured due to the artwork on the packages. I do remember seeing Shazam and wanting him and then going to get him and not being able to find one any longer.

I saw a lot of the Star Trek figures, but I just didn't have much interest in them, though I was interested in the TV series, at the time.

its actually easy to name the megos i did not have ,i lived only blocks at the time from the local mall which had toy departments in six stores,toyland,jj newberreys,pay n pac ,woolworthes,jc penny ,meier and franks ,and it was mego heaven.apes and superheros every where,and many copies,there was me and my two brothers,the older kids were to old,so it was us,and we had all the superheros,except the mail orders .all the apes ,.trek,waltons,starsky and hutch,wizard of oz monsters,western,just the fonz,we could have got the others ,but bought more superhero copies,and etc,never got at the time was,one million bc,our gang knights ,pirates,robin hood,or the andorian,romulan,and mugato,although we went everywhere ,when we couldnt get them at the mall,we also had sears,fred meyer,dico-mart (short for discount mart)k-mart and ji goes,and i still have all my original figures,battle scarred ,but alive also had non mego action apeman,and some monsters,mr rock was detroyed in a war(that cheap spock rip off)also swat ,rookies,etc,even though we stopped playing,still got chips,dukes ,had lots of fun
