Not that many. But, I had one friend who had almost all the POTA figures along with some of the WGSH that I didn't have (Green Goblin, Joker, Riddler, Shazam, Penguin, etc.) and then I had another friend who had a ton of the Trek figures. So, we had a pretty good collection amongst ourselves.

Well I wasn,t born until '77, so I came along at the end of the Mego era. I remember shopping at K-Mart and Woolworth and coming across the figures. I had Batman and Robin, found them at K-Mart, and CHiP's Ponch & Jon along with Bo & Luke at Woolworths. Not all at the same time mind you. Being a huge Batman fan, I wish I had been around when that line was in full swing, especialy the Batcave and Batmobile release. It's all good though, I now own them and couldn't be happier.Leave a comment:

I wasn't into superheroes as a kid, I'd read Sgt Rock comics and that's about as close as I got. I vividly remember all my Planet of the Apes figures and playsets, setting up the fort in the the old farmhouse I grew up in, burning the box for the Forbidden Zone in the fireplace of the old smokehouse, opening Dr. Zaius only to find he had a loose arm...
My favorites were Micronauts, I remember opening the Mobile Exploration Lab for Christmas, the Terraphant and Hornetroid once we moved into the new house when I was six, and saving my allowance to pick up that weird Micronauts City set with all those easily broken silver joints to connect all the pieces together. I was so happy when the aliens came out, I bought them in the Toy/Lawn and Garden section of the Kings store up in Hannover PA, a weekly shopping trip with my grandparents.
The best and shortest lived line was the WWII Lion Rock series. I remember the huge shelf of them at Toys R Us in Kennsington MD, I bought the German Mountain Trooper and German Soldier while visiting with my cousin that weekend.
There was nothing larger to a kid than those old Toys R Us aisles filled from floor to ceiling, and going on for what seemed to be a football field's length.Leave a comment:
