My favorite store back in the day was my local comic toy shop called " my momma threw mine away" how true it was.

This was in Torrington Ct if anyone lives there. I'd love to know if it is still there.

Great story! Luckily I only did something like this twice, both were with duplicate Star Wars figures. I buried a stormtrooper at some friend of my parents house and was never able to find it. I also remember thowing one on my sandpeople into the at my parents house and not being able to find it. We had hedges and I always thought it landed there.
Last year my parents got rid of the hedges but alas no sandperson was found.
I did take Megos to the beach but they just took some abuse, never atcually losty any.
I remember one summer some poor kid obvioulsy lost his Chewbacca in the water as it happened to float right where I was swimming. Once I convinced my mom no one was looking for it (no one was to the best of my memory) she let me keep it. To this day I'm shocked she didn't make me take it to the lost & found.
