Mada, uh I mean Ma is a cool lady. She doubled as the invisible woman on my shelves for quite a while. When Sue finally showed up, she put her civvies back on and resumed her duties as the Mama of the Walton family.

The truck is awesome. The xtras in the general store are pretty cool too.
The characters and outfits are pretty fun. The character sculpts are rather good for this line as well. I never really got into the tv show, but as far as having some regular folks around in my toy universe... Well, the superheroes and cops need someone to protect and save or else they are just buffed up dudes running around in their long undies.

I'd buy 'em if I could get 'em cheap but wouldn't pay as much for a Walton as I would for a Mego from another line.

If you squint and imagine that head sculpt being shrunk to 3-3/4, then I think you get the man-like CAH Wonder Woman face.

No wonder we got more snow yesterday, with this being the Mego of THE DAY.

I have no interest in these, sorry. I think it's because they venture too far into the "girl aisle". Even moreso than WOZ, which had a strong fantasy element and 3 male heroes.

Plus, although my family watched it as a kid, that show was just...depressing. I know they were trying to capture a time in the life of Americans, but I just can't watch it now. Little House seemed more interesting and upbeat, despite everyone going blind at one time or another.

I remember watching it occasionally but I much preferred Little House. That should have been a Mego line and that would've probably sold very well.
Think of all the similar dolls, etc they had in the 70's like Holly Hobbie.
Little House would've been a sure hit.

I don't like the Waltons show, but I like Megos and that's good enough for me. I only need Ellen to complete my Waltons.

Well, I'm in the minorty here, but I've said it in other threads & I say again... The Waltons is a nice line based on a great show.

Much more intelligently & artfully done than the sicky-sweet Little House.

                            And you're right--reasonably-priced custom-fodder, too.

There's something a little creepy of that pic of "Ma" Walton. It looks like Angie Dickinson as Pepper going undercover at "Ma Walton" Maybe it's just the stance.

I never had a desire to own these ones, though I think that the sculpts are good.
