Is it possible for a mego to be entirely repro?

I was browsing some sites and wondering if it's possible to just use the available pieces, bodies, clothes, etc. to create a "new" mego that is entirely based on the ones that I used to own when i was little. I have some megos, but they haven't held up well and I would love to know if it's possible to do this.

    Any help?

Yes indeed. But then it wouldn't be a Mego It is possible for some figures, although, sometimes this can be more expensive than starting with a half complete one.

Kind of like if you put a car together using parts, it would probably cost about 3 times what a new car would.

If you check out this link from the Museum, you will find various resources, such as shops, where you can look into it a bit for yourself.

I couldn't figure out how to make an aquaman...am I slow or something? I'm not much of a customizer (I collect mostly playmates star trek from the 90's and WWE Classic Superstars), but I'm thinking about starting a collection of the toys that got me going in the first place...WGSH!

I have pictures of me with armloads of these things when I was a kid...I'd like to take that picture again (at 31...with the wife holding wonder woman or something).

with Aquaman I would try and buy one off eBay and then maybe pick up some Doc Gloves and a new emblem for his belt and you can do that for under $20 if you hunt for a decent deal.

This may sound stupid, but I feel like if I post a list of "wants" here, that I'm going to be paying high prices. You guys all know what these have sold for in the past and what you can get for them if the market is good. My biggest problem with megos is that I can't afford to spend over 50ish on a figure and that limits me A LOT. I want all of the DC characters (not big on Marvel) and I'm trying to do it economically. I figured maybe customizing a naked figure would be the best way to go...

You can get most of the DC figures for under 50 each, i've seen very nice loose Supermans in the 30 bracket just keep checking the market place and try to steer clear of E-BAY and you should find what you want

Yeah ebay will kill you. The marketplace is the way to go.

Thanks for the help! I'm new to buying these (EMCE Trek brought me to this board). I RARELY stray from Star Trek, Wrestling or NY Giants memorabilia, but I've got a shelf picked out for some DC figures and repro cards/boxes...

Thanks, but the EMCEs are so nice, that I don't want to take one of those from another collector. In a perfect world, the WGSH would get the treatment that the Star Trek figures are getting, but that's probably not possible.

I put a want ad in the marketplace as suggested...we'll see!

If you sew, you can reproduce some of the costumes for even less than buying them from repro dealers. The basic parts for some of the more common figures go for next to nothing. That way, if you're collecting on a budget, it gives you a bit of leeway when you go after the slightly more expensive ones.
