I worked parts for 10+ years at a BMW dealership. I can't begin to tell you just how the word "restore" was misused. I swear, everytime I told a bottle of touch up paint or a new hood emblem, I had to hear about how (it was always a he) was "restoring" his car. I my opinion, to restore means to make it EXACTLY as it was when it was manufactured, not just to gloss over the worn bits. That being said, I have to say that some Megos are just so trashed, that making them look new again requires more effort that it's worth. If you want something that looks new, then just buy one that looks new - or at least buy one that looks really good. But also buy the ones that are in bad shape too because those make can make some great customs!

I am of the school that you clean them up as best you can, stich up the costumes and display em. I don't know If I would do any paint touch ups though. I was watching some of the recent titans auctions for Kid Flash and Speedy but they needed a lot of work and the price was too high for their condition. If I could get one cheap enough I might go the extra mile and restore them completely the way Spockfan74 mentions.

how did you get the marker beard off that Aqualad? I have access to an original Romulan head with the same problem.

I was wondering the same thing as I have a figure that I drew a beard on as a kid and it now has a reddish brown stain on his face. I always wanted to remove it but I actually got 3 more of the same figure since then so it's not like I need to clean him up anymore but I have passed on figures before because of this so it would be a great thing to know.

I say restore it with original parts, that's what I do. Sure, on these rare figures it may take a while, but that's the fun of it. There's nothing like the thrill of the hunt for rare and original parts to restore and complete a figure
